Returning to work post-op
Hi girls,
I'm wondering how I'll cope returning to work after my Op.. I'l have 8 days to recover (back in work on the 9th day)..
I have an office job so I don't have to move much.
I'm actually more concerned at the reaction that I might get. How did you girls deal with this?
It's going to be quite obvious when I return to work with big swolen boobies isn't it?

Re: Returning to work post-op
I dont know what size you are getting hun but a lot of girls have managed to go back and no one know - I don't know if anyone noticed who didnt know i dont think they did but the most difficult thing I had was trying to hide the massive surgical bra and strap! That was hard!
With going back to work - I went back on day 9 too, I wasn't in pain or anything but I did feel very fuzzy headed and it was not easy to concentrate. I think this was the GA as it takes a good 2 weeks to get out of your system. I was ok but at the time I wished i had taken 2 weeks if I am honest xx

Re: Returning to work post-op
Thanks Hattie,
I would have booked more time off but I have no leave left :(
I imagine I will feel quite fuzzy for a while too.
I'm going to be around DD hopefully. I'm a C now, that sound like an ample size I know but they are horrible at the moment. They're not a C looking set, and they're far apart (which is what I hate the most) and have no fullness or volume (sound like a shampoo advert).
I'm just thinking with the swelling they'll be about an E for the first few weeks or so. I might be wrong though.
I think people will notice xx

Thanks Suzi,
I can't believe you went back to a physical job after 10 days!!! You must be a quick healer.
Are you happy with your new purchases?
Yes I never thought about the sports bra squashing them, thanks Suzi xx

Re: Returning to work post-op
See I had mine in the winter when it was freeezing so I covered up in big wooly jumpers - might not be so easier in the summer (if that's what you want to call it!)

Ooh winter, that's probably the best time to do it. I've got 5 weeks yet so it'll probably snowing here by then hehe xx
Re: Returning to work post-op
I'm due back tomorrow which is day 9. I have an office job so I can avoid heavy lifting etc. Think I will be tired and hard to concentrate but haven't got enough leave to take more time. Thankfully I only work part time so hoping it will be okay

Re: Returning to work post-op
Kittie,
Atleast tiredness you can cope with, and you're not in pain anymore? Do they know at work that you've had this surgery done? xx

Re: Returning to work post-op
It's more discomfort than pain most of the time, no painkiller during the day but I do need them at night. I do feel it if I do too much tho. Work do know I had a ba so not worried but know some people don't agree with or understand why I did it. I figure it's my choice and they don't need to agree with or understand my choice. I did this for me and I think most people find it hard to understand the way we ladies feel.

Agreed Kittie, some people are so narrow minded and judgemental. And other people can never truly empathise with out personal insecurities.
Good on you xxx

Re: Returning to work post-op
Hi tanyajade
noone at my work knew about my BA or does even now. I went from A to DD. I bet you have alwasy wore wired/padded bras to boost your boobs anyway, so when you return in a tight sports bra and the right kind of top you will get away with it... honestly you will. I work with all women and noone has said a word... if they sustect then they are not sure enough to say!!
On day 10 in a sit down office job you should be fine. I'm a primary teacher so am on my feet all day bending to little-ees and I managed (I had overs though, quicker to heal than unders).
Good luck xxx

Re: Returning to work post-op
I was back at work on Monday which was day 8 post op and I've been okay. No painkillers anymore at all (got a terrible buddha belly with them). I'm still being careful and not lifting too much and watching how I move as if I stretch my arms too much I get a little twinge but it's not anything major.

painkillers can stop you going to the loo - but it goes away once you stop taking them - and i'm kind of prone to being that way anyway. not permanent tanya and you're a skinny minny anyway.

Re: Returning to work post-op
I went up FOUR sizes and people at work who i hadnt told didnt notice he he just bought a coulpe of bigger shirts and hid them a bit whilst the swelling went down.
My boss knew so he made sure he did anything i couldnt manage in a non-obvious way bless him
Now back in my normal clothes- i.e tight ha ha and none of them have noticed (or if they have they havent said anything) they wont be as obvious as you think they are babe so dont worry :)

Re: Returning to work post-op
OMG I'm panicing about swelling up & going back to work like a big balloon!! ahah well, atleast it's took my mind off the op.. haha xx
Re: Returning to work post-op
I had 2 weeks off but to be honest could've gone back after 1 week, and nobody at work noticed and nearly 18 months on they still haven't! When you're wearing your sports bra it will disguise them pretty well. I went from B to DD/E xxx
