New dilemma : what size - & what is fluffing????
Hi girls, I need your help and advise please!!
I have been chatting to my surgeon (Dr Frati at the Harley Medical Group) and i'm not sure as to what size implants to go for.
He has recommends 300cc high profiles to be placed under the muscle and he has said that I should buy 34D support bras to take with me to the hospital. To be honest, i really want to be C cup (which I told him) and I have never even thought of being a D cup as I assumed this would be too big for me!!
Do you guys think this would be too big -- I'm currently 32A - but a small A as I don't always for the bra properly!!
Or, do you think I should go a little smaller. I did quite like the 260CC when i tried them on but Dr Frati says I need to go a little bigger as the implants are being placed under the muscle and that by doing this, means that the size reduces by aprox. 10% -- is this right / make sense?? So, effectively, is he saying that the look is the same as the 270cc even though i've got the 300cc in??
Also, if I bought 34D bras to wear post op does this mean that when the swelling goes down, they will won't be a 34D??
Finally, another question which I'm probably going to sound really silly for asking but i've read about fluffing -- what is fluffing??
Sorry for all the questions -- hoping you can help to answer some of them please!!

A D-cup post BA would appear smaller than a natural D cup so when you say you would like to be a C-cup then you would certainly 'look' a C-cup if you were to measure a D-cup post op so don't panic about the mention of size, i know it sounds utter mad but you will understand once you've had your op exactly what i am explaining.

Yes this is right, there is a slight loss of size between unders to that of overs.
Also, if I bought 34D bras to wear post op does this mean that when the swelling goes down, they will won't be a 34D??
Some ladies have hardly any swelling and some have alot so it's hard to answer.
Finally, another question which I'm probably going to sound really silly for asking but i've read about fluffing -- what is fluffing??
Fluffing is basically your implants settling, some ladies will surge in size and some will remain the same but have better definition, it's about your boobs taking their final shape, in can happen once or a few times during the months after your operation.
Sorry for all the questions -- hoping you can help to answer some of them please!!
That's ok, i hope i helped a little for you. Good luck with your upcoming op x x x

Re: New dilemma : what size - & what is fluffing????
My advice would be to make another appointment to speak with Mr Fratti if you're so concerned hun.
I measure an F cup and do most definately look my size... I'm always confuddled by the opinion that augmentated boobs look smaller then real boobs because logically, if you fill a certain cup size, then how is it possible not to look that cupsize, you measure an F for example, you fill an F, therefore you 'are' and F also when I've googled natural cup sizes the same as mine, there's no difference at all so take in pictures of the size you want rather than discussing cup sizes to avoid disappointment, this way your surgeon can 'see' what you want rather than taking a guess of the size you're hoping to achieve.
Also Nads, the Admin here had the same size implants changed from under the muscle to over the muscle, 'in theory' if the percentage loss were correct, she'd have increased her breast size with the placement change, but in reality she remained the same size with both placements, so again, do take in pictures of the resulting size you want so that there is absolutely no confusion with what you're hoping to achieve.
Take a look [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] to get an idea on fluffing hunni.
If you're at all confused hun, do get it sorted with your surgeon as soon as you can before your surgery, I wish I'd taken in pics to discuss with my surgeon before my op to ensure I got as near to my perfect boobs as possible as I'm larger than I hoped to be, but we all live and learn and it's good that post-op we can then pass on our experience to others. xx

Re: New dilemma : what size - & what is fluffing????
I agree with the other girls on the sizing - I asked for a DD.
My surgeon was going to use inflatable sizers on the op day to see which of the chosen implants fitted me best, they were 360, 405, 460 and 515cc. I woke up with the 515cc. I had to send back a 32F bikini yesterday as it was too small which I had bought to wear after the initial 6 weeks. (the wire was standing proud of my chest) I have ordered the 32FF and 32G and we will see!!!
I REALLY don't look that big though, not Jordan or Babs Windsor big, and I would imagine them to be an F or bigger. To me I look slightly bigger than what I'd imagine a DD to look like. Kinda like Carmen Electra ( I wish!).
I would take pictures of the look you want to your surgeon, they work much better with visuals than cup sizes (suppose they are men afterall!!)
But I really would think like \shooting Star says, if you want to look a C, you need to be aiming for the D with an augmentation. I think the reason for the difference is the distribution of 'tissue' is slightly different and because of the implant the breast holds itself slightly differently than a big natural breast.
Good Luck with your decision xx

Re: New dilemma : what size - & what is fluffing????
Hi,
Sizing is the hardest things to make a decision on when having a BA! I had unders and its true that you lose some of the size initially but I have found that when my muscles relaxed they have increased in size. I was a 32a pre op and wanted to be a C/D cup. I had 265 unders and after the op was wearing 34C sports bras. I now measure a 30E although also wear 32dd and 30F bras! I don't think I look that big but they are def bigger than the C I imagined. Take pictures in to show your surgeon the look you want and that might help,
Claire

Re: New dilemma : what size - & what is fluffing????
Oh it's so difficult isn't it!! So much advice and some of it not the same! I think the photos idea and another proper interrogation of your surgeon is the best plan.
All I can add is that I rarely (sometimes but not often) see girls on here that are upset at being a cup size bigger than they expected. Much more often though, people are unhappy that they feel that they have gone too small.
Talk to your surgeon and be very specific about your needs. Good luck.
On the measuring thing... I read that an augmented breast is wider than a natural breast meaning the cup can measure a little larger than it looks. I'm not sure if that is right or not, but passing it on anyway, make of it what you will!!!
I was a 34A by the way, had 390s moderatoe profile, and am a 34DD/E now.

Re: New dilemma : what size - & what is fluffing????
i dont know about augmented breasts not looking their size. I think thats more down to a culture of people wearing the wrong bra size tbh.
My best friend is a natural FF but she doesnt always look it. Another friend Ive got insists shes a DD but shes blatantly bigger than that.
I also think bra sizes lately are measured differently to how they used to be,

Re: New dilemma : what size - & what is fluffing????
Size is THE mosst difficult and most confusing decision you have to make during this process. I had 295cc unders from a 32A and measure a D/DD and if I am honest, I wish I had gone smaller. I only wanted a C and they just seem too big to me.
I understand why Mr Frati has adised that size - all the things he has explained plus the fact that so many girls wish they had gone bigger. BUT not all girls do! Some of us wish we had gone smaller!
My advice hun, would be to go back for another appointment with him and try on the implants again before you make your decision.

Just wanted to say I had a placement change too with the same size implant and went up at least 1 cup size. Just to add to the confusion that everyone is different and reacts differently.

I hadn't known that Sally
The size issue is VERY confusing indeed! I reduced my implant size, same placement and went UP 2 cup sizes!!! It's just a complete mystery!!!!
