Post by Woosie 31st May 2010, 7:22 pm

Hey girls...

I am 5 days post op now and I am surprised at the amount of bloating I am experiencing! My tummy has the 3 months pregnant look and i feel like a barrel pretty much all the time! :( My boob are still giving me little shooting pains and feel very hard indeed. The day of my op I was 8.3lbs....4 days on and im 8 and three quaters stone!!! Thats half a stone gained in water/bloating/boobies. Not only that but I have been constipated since the op.. is this normal? Oh I just feel like a massive whale right now :( xxx

Feeling very uncomfy.... Woosie Bloating and swelling 856466 x

[moved from breast aug stories]

Awwww hunni Bloating and swelling 571992 , don't worry we've all suffered the budha belly Bloating and swelling 70324

The weight gain does settle hun and you will return back to normal.

Drink lots of water and eat plenty of fruit and veg babe and also make sure you're getting up and walking around often to encourage yourself to 'go' hun, some senokot or another laxative will also help too. The constipation and initial weight gain after BA surgery are both very common hunni, so don't worry. xxxx

HI! I'm 4 days post BA...and I'm so bloated! No BM yet either....I'm trying to think of tips on how best to make myself go...I'm off all perscription drugs (ibuprofen only).

Walking
fruit and veggies
peppermint tea
laxative (last resort!)

Anything else? I hate this feeling!!! sick

i had a massive disaster after my BA.. (warning gross story) - basically i got constipated and stopped pooing completely, and didn't poo for 9 days... by day 9 i was so sick of the way my abdomen felt all fat and stretched and i felt so uncomfortable, i went to boots and asked for some lactulose, which is a really quite strong laxative that stimulates your gut to contract... anyway turns out i wasnt pooing cos i had impaction, which means there was so much poo just stuck there, and taking the laxative means a mahusive amount just got STUCK and was too big to come out... i was like crying on the loo and thought i would need an episiotomy (women who have had babies know what i mean) of my bumhole... but eventually it came out with some tearing...sso sosos so sow sosos so s bad and embarrassing!!!

I would recomment those dulcolax stool softeners 3 times per day and lots of walking, that helped me when i was recovering from the, er, episode!!!

keep on top of stool softeners not so much the laxatives. BUT you MUST up your water intake for it all to work!

i was so bloated i looked about 5 months pregnant, my belly stuck further out than my new boobs!! hahahaha

Springstep123 That is terrible but slightly amusing!Bloating and swelling 396753 I have to say I have been there before and not fun. I would also recomend some Yakult drinks or Inner Health Plus. It is full of good bacteria and I find I also help to settle the belly.
