Worried :( Empty Worried :(

So this morning after my shower, I proceeded with gently massaging my incision scars with bio oil. I have been doing it for the past 3 days and it is sometimes painful. But today, somehow, after massaging there was a stinging sensation, not on my scars but still around the crease.

After a close inspection I noticed a tiny wound that must have been opened whilst I was massaging my breast, I'm not sure. Never noticed it before... It's just a tiny wound but it really stung. I washed the area, and dried it up again.

Now I'm worried I got some bio oil in my blood stream :( Shall I be concerned or just ignored it all together? It still stings a little but hopefully it should pass.

Thanks x

Adrianne, you're just over two weeks post-op aren't you hun? Have you OKd with your surgeon that you can use bio-oil on your 'scars'? As far as I'm aware babe you really shouldn't be using any lotions, oils or moisturisers on your scars until they are fully healed babe, usually at after your 6 week check up.

If the wound seems clean and there is no pus or pain or bleeding, then I wouldn't panic babe, but I would call the clinic for advice if you think your incision has reopened as they may want to to just check it over... xxx

Yes, I was told not to touch my scars for at least 6 weeks and to keep them very dry, even drying them with a hairdryer when I get out of the shower. I only started with the bio-oil until they were very much closed up.

My ps said I could use rosehip oil on my scars as soon as the dressings came off however I didn't have any open wounds. I wouldn't panic honey but I would give your nurse or ps a call just to clarify. Leave off the oil for the time being until everything has healed. xxx

Yeah, you all right. I wasn't told to use bio oil.

I used bio oil just to keep the breast moisturised. I've been told to massage my scars only using rosehip oil.

I thought bio oil would do the same thing as rosehip :(

The scars are all closed up though. It's just that tiny wound, maybe the size of dark spot if that makes sense. That wound came out of nowhere. I just hope I didn't make matters worse. I'll call the clinic on Monday.

Don't worry hun, I'm sure you haven't made it worse, just keep an eye out for any swelling, stinging, heat or puss as it might be a sign of infection, if it's just a bit sore I'm sure it will be fine. xxx
