I'm home with new boobs!
Had my ba and everything is ok, I hope! Am a bit disappointed with the size, am already thinking I should have gone bigger, think I am only going to be a B cup, but least it's better than what I had before! Can't move my arms an awful lot at the moment and am already suffering with aching back, neck and shoulders! It hurts my chest to breathe and I have bruising and swelling at the side of my boobs and under my arms.
I am worried about one thing though! Where they took the drain out on one side it won't stop bleeding! I have already had the dressing changed 3 times and have to go back again later today to get it changed again! It's really worrying me, did anyone else have this problem? I'm scared i'm going to get an infection or something! At the moment it looks horrible!

Re: I'm home with new boobs!
Congratulations Starz!
Don't worry too much about the size just now hun, what you have now isn't what you'll end up with at all!
I had a constant bleed too babe but from my scar and was up and down the clinic having to get my dressings changed, it does stop hun so don't worry, try not to disturb the dressings inbetween changes hun and you should be just fine.
For your back, neck and shoulders a warm compress (hot water bottle) should help babe and for the swelling on your new boobs you can use ice packs or bags of frozen peas/rice to help ease that hunni.
Take it easy and I hope all goes well at the clinic later. xxx

Re: I'm home with new boobs!
Thanks cookie, you have put my mind at ease a bit, it just says on the leaflet I have been given that the more often the dressings are changed the more risk of infection there is! I was hoping it would have stopped bleeding by now as I wasn't planning on going back to get the dresssing changed until Monday but it just won't stop! I'm am assuming it's only from where the drain was taken out and not from the incision itself but now I'm not so sure as near enough the whole plaster is covered in blood, sounds gross I know! I wonder if they will have to stitch it up, I don't know how big the mark is where the drain was.
I'm hoping the size won't get too smaller when the swelling goes down!
Will try the hot water bottle as i'm feeling very uncomfortable at the moment! x

Re: I'm home with new boobs!
my drains were round the side just away from my incisions, my incisions had dressings on them but the nurse took my drains out and just left them with no dressings.
hope all goes well later maybe you should ask them what is bleeding xxx

Re: I'm home with new boobs!
Thanks Mia.
I think my drains must have been alongside my incisions because I have one big plaster covering both at the moment. I haven't been able to see yet though so might see if I can have a look when they change the dressing later. x

Re: I'm home with new boobs!
Hi hun, I didn't have drains but as cookie says it's ok, I'm sure plenty of people have had this too. Also the boobs you have now are not the boobs you will have in a few months time, swelling goes down but rarely do they get smaller. Congratulations on your new boobs hun

The oozing is probably coming from the incision site hun and not where you had the drains, it's just a teeny tiny hole where the drain is removed and this is all normal hunni, lots of ladies have some oozing and it's nothing to worry about and doesn't mean you'll have to be re-stitched, things usually settle on their own hun, but your clinic are doing the right thing in keeping an eye on you and keeping the wound clean. xxx

Re: I'm home with new boobs!
Back from the hospital and had the dressing changed, everything is ok, phew! They said I should be ok until my appointment next week as long as I don't get it wet. No shower for a week then I guess! x
