Nerves on the day of BA!
Hey girls,
Just a question for you all, how were your nerves on the day of your op?
I can't say I'm really nervous yet as it hasn't properly sunk in (although i do get butterflies sometimes when i think about it)
I'm dreading the nerves and the feelings on the day though, I hope it doesn't get to the point I'm too terrified to have it done! lol x
Thanks xx

I was calm - it didn't sink in properly until I actually went into the operating theatre and they put a drip on my arm... but then I was quickly asleep!!!!!

I was fine, it was my husband who was more nervous than me!
You should find that all the hospital staff are absolutely lovely and they will make sure that you are relaxed before you go for your GA.
Good luck!

Re: Nerves on the day of BA!
I was completely calm just had butterflies in my stomach, it was strange! I did my BA alone and i have suffered from panic attacks and anxiety since childhood but i was so calm on the day! I had 100% faith and trust in my surgeon so knew i was in good hands, in the end there was nothing to worry or be scared about so im glad i didnt let nerves get the better of my as i really enjoyed my experience x
Re: Nerves on the day of BA!
hey stefjl you and i are on the same day which makes us boobie sisters!!! i have been nervous on and off but i actually have a good inbuilt cut off system which has helped me a lot in life and is helping now. anything nasty i just put out of my mind - the thoughts pop up and i squash them. i am quite shallow really lol!! i did a parachute jump and was fine until the last second when i got a lump in my throat and nearly cried...........when i went in to have my son i had the same thing happen and i expect next wednesday it will happen too but until then i am going with the flow. don't sweat all the things that could go wrong - they won't. and if they do - well, we will just deal with them!! as nads says i have complete faith in my ps being a little genius and i know that whatever happens my boobs will not ever ever look as depressed as they do now - hooray!!!!!
be strong my boobie sister! lol xx

Well I'm having butterflies in my tummy every day when I think about my ba and I haven't even had my consultation yet! God knows what I'll be like on the day - I'm sure you'll be fine tho. Going under is actually quite a nice feeling I remember - just think of something nice like all the new lovely underwear you'll be able to wear, or how great you'll look in a bikini this summer!
Good luck xx

I was sooo worried about this too! But I was amazingly calm on the day, and even going to theatre. I think I just realised that I needed to do this to be happy and I was lucky to have the chance, as so many would love to do it but can't for one reason or another.
You will be fine - the staff are fantastic and there's hardly the time to worry, honestly...
