I was just wondering how big people's scars are from silicone implants? I think they are about 4.5cm but is this kind of like a standard size incision with silicone implants or is it the surgeon's ability which can make the scars smaller? How long do they take to fade?

Hi,

I think that the surgeon will make the smallest incision that they can. I have never measured mine but your guess of 4.5cm sounds about right.

I am 11 months post op and my scars have faded to a very pale silver. I didn't use anything at all on them such as Bio Oil etc so I don't know how much quicker they would fade if you used something like this on them.

I thought that was such an interesting question I had to go an measure mine lol. they are 6cm long and mm's thick (too small to measure). They seemed to heal month by month, but were almost invisible by about 4 or maybe 6 months for me, can't remember which lol.

Hi Starz

I haven't measured mine either but 4.5cm does seem right. Mine are really fading now and are getting to be silver. I've used bio oil but it still takes time. I wouldn't say they were noticeable though xx

Yes I'd agree with 4.5cm approximately!
Mine are looking fab and I'm only 16days post-op, with scars the only thing that truelly works is 'time' they will fade and become less noticeable hun!
