Where to buy my bras & what size? Any Advise
I have been lookin in Asda & they sell post surgery bras for £6, just lookin for some advise on where to get bras or should I go wiv the clinic on buyin them. I have heard the Asda ones are just as good. Not sure what size to buy I am currently a 32 and I want to go to a big D. Do I buy the D or go for an E incase I am swollen after the op? Help please ladies

Hya ChelleFRS. I would go with what your clinic says. I wouldn't know if there is a difference between types of post op bras, but i personally will be following what is recommended by my surgeon to the letter. Good luck

I would get a bigger band than you usually wear cos of swelling in the D and E. Do they not do a DD aswel? x

I got one band up to my usual band and a cup size up from the size I requested to be...I'm using the shock absorber max support in level 4! All the staff and my ps thought it looked really supportive and said they would recommend that one! Abit pricey but worth it!

Hi hun, I bought some sports bras from asda, didn't bother with the post surgery bras. They were very comfy. I also bought a Z bra as I thought I should have a surgery bra. I bought lots of sizes thankfully. I was very swollen after my op, I went up 2 band sizes. My clinic advised me to get a 34E so I bought that in the Z bra and then just bought a 34D/DD, 36D/DD and I got wear out of all of them, If you go up a band size you need to go down a cup size.

Agree with misf1. The bras I wore post op were asda bras. When I went for my first post op check at my ps's offices his nurse was really impressed at the level of support I got from the bras, I don't wear the asda ones any more as I've totally outfluffed them but until you know for sure what kind of size you're gonna be I'd not spend out loads of money on bras. As long as you have one or two to leave the hospital with you'll be fine. Pre op I was a 34(empty) C so for post op I bought 36DD. I'm now a 34FF!

Do the nurses measure you up after the BA at the hosp and you can buy the Z bra that is the rite size for you or is this all done before? i have managed to get a 34D from my local Asda but they havent got a 34E and I have tried online at Asda but still no luck. I have a week to get them sorted. Would you say the Asda total support bras will be ok or stick to the post surgery bras? The ladie at clinic suggested the Asda ones cause she said they r just as good but if I cant get them not really sure what to do! M&S do them but they are more money and not sure what size I will be, dont wanna spend mega money unless I really have 2.

You could maybe buy some bras from M&S and then return the ones that you don't use after the op (as long as the labels are still intact you can get a refund). I was told to get a 30D and a 30DD (I bought the shock absorber level 4 ones). I was put into the 30DD straight after the op which was fine, however, it started to dig into me a week later because of the swelling. I went and bought a 32D which was a lot more comfortable and wore this for about 2 weeks, once the swelling subsided I went back to my 30DD as this was a better fit.
Have you tried Tesco hun, i've heard they have some good value sports bras that also do the job, might be worth having a look?

Thanks for all your advise ladies, I am a 32A/B at mo, its not possible to get a 32D in the Asda post surgery bras but figure from what everybody seems to be sayin that I mite go up a band size due to swelling so after long deliberation I am going to take a 34D, 34DD, 34E(just incase lol) with me on day. I can always get my mum to go and get me some more once I know for sure what size i am when I get back. Thanks
