Left breast still aching
I'm 4 months post-op now and still experiencing aching all the time from my left breast (this was the side of the rupture) I did mention the pain to my surgeon at my last check up (12 weeks post-op) and was told it was normal to feel it at that stage in my recovery. I have an appointment for June to see my surgeon again, but I'm wondering.... Do you think I should suggest being seen before? I'm not panicking and I don't think I have any emergency to worry about so I could wait until June but it just irritates me.
Has anybody else experienced pain from their breast this far along post-op? The pain is like a dragging downwards feeling that extends toward my armpit.
I had a very easy recovery from my first BA so this is all quite new to me. xxx

Re: Left breast still aching
I haven't had this but I'm sure if your surgeon says it is normal then it's OK - you have had major trauma to that breast with the rupture. When you have a rupture does the surgeon have to scrape the inside of your breast to make sure all the escaped silicone is gone? Just thinking it could be left over trauma from this and is on its way to getting better.
Hope it doesn't last too long hun, and I'm sure it's nothing to worry about.

Re: Left breast still aching
Thanks Jess, yes I had a capsulectomy hun.
You're probably right babe, I'll sit tight till June. It's just like toothache though, you know the kind of pain that just doesn't go away and although it's not 'painful' as such the ache isn't nice... I'll bare with it. Thanks again for replying Jess. xxx

Re: Left breast still aching
Hi cookie firstly a big hug from me
Secondly I'm sure if your ps says it's all normal for this stage of recovery, then I think it's nothing to worry about. However, if the pain does continue and it's continuing to make you uncomfortable I would go ansd see him before June, just for piece of mind.
You have been through a lot with the rupture and I think it may just be the boobie healing, from what I hear Mr S is fantastic so he wouldn't mind you just popping in to see him if it does continue.
I hope the pain gets better soon, if anyone deserves it, it's you hun x x

I hope it goes soon for you hun, I would think it is probably as you had so much done to your boobs that they are taking a little longer to heal, might be worth asking James see what he says.

Thanks so much everyone for taking the time to reply. xxxx
Boobieprize - that's why I asked, there was no time scale given and it's been a month now since I've seen him so wasn't sure if what I'm experiencing would be normal for this stage in my recovery 'now' a month later if you get what I'm saying.
Misf1 - That's a very good idea, I think I'll do just that!

Re: Left breast still aching
Hi Cookie
Sorry to hear you are bit worried about the pains you're having like others have said is hard to know what to advise/say apart from give you support especially as you are always first to be there for others! Misf1 has definitely suggested good idea and after having 2 consult with Mr S myself I would definitely get the impression that he would happily see you earlier if only to put your mind at ease.
Lots of love to you xx

Re: Left breast still aching
Thanks girls I can't say the aching is worrying me so much as annoying me really, I don't mind waiting till June if what I'm experiencing is normal for this stage in my recovery, Mr S I think as you say Kate would be happy to see me if I asked but I'd really rather not bother him if there's nothing wrong... I've asked the surgeon James McDiarmid who posts here what he thinks, I'll just wait and see what he says and take it from there....
Can you tell I hate seeing doctors and will only go if I'm dragged there!!! :teehee:

Re: Left breast still aching
Just to update here - James doesn't seem to think I have anything to be concerned about either, so I'll sit tight till June - Thanks again all for taking the time to respond.
