Noticed rippling - very down :o(
Hi girls
Well, as the title suggests, I noticed rippling around the outside edge of both boobs last. I only noticed because I leant forward and felt a weird sensation - glanced in the mirror and there it was. I could feel it too.
Is there anything I can do about this? Should I see my ps? Is it likely to get worse over time? Is this because I've done something wrong - ie not rested enough and done too much lifting?
I'm really upset. I know worse things could happen but I can't help feeling upset about this...
Would really appreciate some advice and preferably some reassurance!!

Its definately not your fault at all hun, how noticeable is it? Is it only when you bend over? Alot of women who start off quite flat are likely to get some rippling, if it is really bad and noticeable i would see your surgeon x
Re: Noticed rippling - very down :o(
Please dont worry.
Its probably because alot of your swelling has gone now and so you can feel the implant which I think to be fair most of us can unless had total unders. I panniked about this too but its completly acceptable to me now Im used to it. I saw my PS (had checkup anyway) and he said everyone who had little tissue to begin with will get this..
Just think how great your boobs look now and will do especially when you can wear lovely bras.

Hi Hunni
I know how you feel, because this happened to me. I was so sure that I hadn't got any rippling, and after reading a post on another forum, I decided I would have a good look.
And there it was, if I leant forwards and hung my arms down like a monkey, on the outside of my boobies.
I was really upset about it for a while and quite down, but I have now got over that really bad feeling. I still don't like it, however, I tell myself that I only notice it when I'm doing a monkey impression, and I have stopped over-analysing it and stopped getting into the position.
I spoke to my surgeon about it when I had my 6 month check and he said it's really not uncommon. I asked him if there was anything I could do to make sure it doesn't get any worse, and he said to wear a sports bra as much as possible (ie when not out or at work) because they really hold everything in place. I have to say, I feel that my underwired bras to that as well, so I haven't been wearing a sports bra unless I'm doing sport.
The other thing I've been doing is making sure that whatever I'm doing, I avoid getting into a position when I can feel that funny sensation ... when I bend over without a bra, I make sure my arms aren't hanging down etc.
Finally, I know that rippling is pretty common and often women get it in their cleavage and it can be really noticeable. I know that mine (and by the sound of it, yours, too) isn't very bad at all, because most of the time it doesn't show.
Please try not to worry, hunni.

Re: Noticed rippling - very down :o(
Thanks everyone - I feel so much better now
Yes it's only when I lean forward doing a monkey impression (lol) not all the time. I suppose I should have expected it as I was so flat before and don't have a lot of fat to cover the implant...guess I just panicked!
But it's a huge relief to hear that it's fairly common and that I'm not alone.
Note to self - no more monkey impressions (in the nude, at least!)
Thanks again everyone xxx

Well, when I lean forward it just feels a bit lumpy and you can definitely feel the implant. It feels worse than it looks. I'd rather it was near my armpits than in my cleavage though...guess maybe the implant is covered by my muscle there and maybe a bit more flesh?
I will keep an eye on it and will probably mention it at my next check, but that isn't until the end of May (unless I want to see him earlier). He did warn me that I needed to put on a few pounds before my ba though and I tried but didn't manage it...so I'm sure that's all it is.

Carrie i had this after my first BA and surgeon said it was totally normal if you startedout with little tissue and that it isnt a problem unless you can see it when your upright. xx

Thanks Em x
No you can only see it when I do a monkey impression so I've decided not to worry about it anymore!
Thanks all for putting my mind at rest....

Re: Noticed rippling - very down :o(
Very reassuring to read these posts on rippling ladies. my ba's only 2 weeks in and have discovered the dredded rippling only on my left outside of boob. can feel it when i'm laying down or if gently press on the area.... was really worried so have made app to see my ps anyway just to talk it through.
was only a 34a and am at present a 34d with a bit of swelling still.
it makes sense that if there was little tissue there you may be able to feel the implant but mine's only one one side. you do worry that your going to be the one statistic who it all goes wrong for and end up having a nitemare trying to correct it all.....
Wish I could fast forward 6 months and they could be settled.
I'm so glad I did it but am also going through a really emotional worrying period about them. Did anyone else go through this.
Thanks for all your support girls as always

Hey all
Just wanted to say that now at nearly 2 years PO, the rippling is not really any worse than when I first noticed it. Hopefully all you lovely ladies will find the same.
