Re: Scar treatment
Hi
So, this dermatix, how soon after the op can you use it and for how long should you use it ?
Would the gel sheets or just the gel be better or both ?
How many gel sheets would I need ?
Sorry for all the Q's but only just read some posts on scars, and had no idea you should massage them (thanks for that post FunkyGirl !! ) or that you could put stuff on them to promote healing !!
Thanks !

Your welcome hun , I just read it on the internet just last night and wanted to get opinions on it. I just started worrying that I feel informed up until and day of the op now, but what about after?!
The girlies have posted some great advice, it's so helpful, I LOVE this forum x x

Re: Scar treatment
I'm not sure about dermatix but I would be interested in finding out from people who have used it.... flipping expensive though!
Anyone...?

Re: Scar treatment
derma what ???
I used heal gel on my scars (only once they were fully healed), it was £30 for a little pot but I've still got about half of it left as I don't use it as regularly now as I prob should.

Re: Scar treatment
Ok, just googled it!
I only chose to use a specialist scar gel because I have extra scars around my areolas.
I think if I'd just had the incision sites I wouldn't have bothered and would have just used bio oil which is what I used on the boobs themselves.
eastla- I wouldn't get the sheets hun, I think it's best to let the air get at your scars to help dry them out properly and heal. If you do get anything just get the gel but make sure the scars are completely healed (check with SH at your 6 week check up) before you put anything on them.
These products are designed for people with lots of scarring/ issues with keloid scars/ facial scars etc so don't get sucked in just because you're going to have 2 tiny scars (and SH does very neat scars ).
