Post surgery support !
Hi Girls
Did you just buy sports bra's for straight after the surgery and at home or did you buy the recommended compression garments the hospitals tell you about.
I'm going with My Breast and they have recommended [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] ??
Are these worth it/necessary ?
Thanks

Can't get the link you posted to work .
I went with mybreast and my surgeon recommended the m&s front fastening sports bras so that's what I went with, wore them day and night for the first 6 weeks.

Those are the ones I was thinking of going for, don't get me wrong if I should pay the money for these ones then I would but don't want to do that if I don't need to !!

Re: Post surgery support !
Is it the £32 breast augmentation bra they're trying to get you to buy?
If it is it looks very similar to this:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Which is what SH told me was as good as any of the fancy ones but with the added bonus of being able to try them on in the shop and return/ exchange for other sizes as it's all guess work until you've had the op as to what actual size you'll be.

Re: Post surgery support !
The letter doesn't say - it just says that I will need to bring one to wear after the surgery and that to get one recommended by plastic surgeons to go to that website.....
This is the thing I am thinking I am going to need a few sizes so would prefer to go for a cheaper option especially if they are just as good..!
Will check out your link
Thanks

I wonder if MB get commission or have some sort of affiliation with whoever runs the website then, wouldn't surprise me .

Re: Post surgery support !
Hi hun, I have been fitted to one of these (included with my surgery) (http://www.lipoelastic.com/index.php?action=bandaze-prsa∂=pi-smooth) which is really supportive and comfy... Iit looks very similar to the M&S zip up ones though and a lot of girls use those and say they are good.
I have bought some cheapy Primark sports bras for when i wash this one though I haven't tried them on yet but I would imagine they are not that supportive compared to this. i think it is worth investing a little more money in a good one!

Re: Post surgery support !
Hi Laura, just seen that you have decided to go with Stephen Hamilton at My Breast, who I think is very good. Why did you decide in the end not to have Jesper Sorensen as your ps?
To answer your question about bras and compression garments - I don't think you need anything more than a good supportive sports bra. There are lots of things on the market, but I found my M & S sports bra was fine, and it was comfy for wearing day and night.

Oooooh I was told that if you buy the support bra from the website Mybreast suggests, then you are entitled to 15% off if you say you are having BA with them. Must be commisioned based. x x

Hi Sasha
The only thing that made me not go with Jesper Sorensen was the length of aftercare that was on offer.
I really liked him as a surgeon and felt very comfortable at the consultation but for me only 1 year just wasn't enough to put my mind at ease. I did ask them if there was any way it could be extended even if I had to pay extra but I didn't hear back from them.
This was the only reason

Re: Post surgery support !
Thanks girls for all your replies - think I will pop into M&S over the next couple of weeks and check out their selection.
Will be easier to return the ones that I won't be using as I won't know which size I am going to need !
