compression strap
hi girls, i just wondered if anyone else had to wear a compression strap across the top of new boobies? I had mine yesterday and have this strap on which is pretty uncomfortable and I have been told to wear it for 1 month! I'm sure i will get used to it and it will be less uncomfortable when the swelling has gone down but at the moment i am dreading wearing it for that long! All in the name of good boobies i guess .
Also if anyone did have one... how did you disguise it under clothes? It's kinda bulky!
thanks lovely ladies xxx

Re: compression strap
Hey Hattie
Congratulations on you op darling. Hope you're feeling fit soon.
I had to wear a compression strap ... intially I thought it would be for 6 weeks, but at my 5 week check, my surgeon told me I had to wear it for another 3 weeks for 8 hours a day. I was well gutted!!!! But it went quickly enough. It will be worth it in the end, and it's a fantastic feeling when you don't have to wear it anymore.

I asked the surgeon again how long i wear it for when i saw him today on the off chance he would change his mind since yesterday haha ... no such luck! funnily enough it is still a month

Hattie
I'm also wearin the binder :( thankfully though its just for 2 weeks, so it can come off on wednesday and i cant wait. I've been wearing a boob tube over mine to try and cover it.
Do you find it gets really itchy?
When i swap to a sports bra after 2 weeks, does anyone know if i have to wear the sports bra in bed too?

Re: compression strap
Hi Noodles, I am actually wearing a big post op bra with strap over the top so everything is so bulky! I have red dry patches under my arms from wear it rubs, only 1 week left though yay!
I think when you switch to your sports bra it will be day and night, most girls have to wear them 24/7. A lot of girls actually don't give up wearing it at night because it feels weird having no support. I have been wearing mine 24/7 for 3 weeks, it will all be worth it in the end!
Perhaps double check with your surgeon/nurse to make sure xx
