Nutrition before breast augmentation
Hi
Was just wondering if any of you changed your eating habits before surgery and if you did how many weeks before the op did you start ?
My diet is diabolical in that my quota of fruit and veg for the year so far is 1 grape!
Kinda figure that I should try to get some goodness in me in general let alone before surgery.
Any foodie tips ?
Laura

Hmmm - other post gone missing ??
Thanks Mia, did a search for nutrition but nothing came up
Yikes I am in need of a major diet overhaul, 1 grape this year is not going to cut it hey ?!
Would you think those probiotic drink things would be a good replacement for live yoghurt ? x

Re: Nutrition before breast augmentation
Hi eastla, I am 2 wks away and I'm not that great with fruit and veg although I do try!!
I have recently been eating a bit more fresh fruit like kiwis (loads of vit c), tangerines, grapes, pomegranites as well as trying to eat more veg - in order to do this i have been following some vegetarian recipes and adding a bit of meat if I want - that way you know you are eating loads of veg but you can have meat too!
I have also been drinking probiotic drinks.

Hi hattie260
Thanks for your reply, ooo not long at all now until your day !!
Am not booked up yet but thought it a good idea to make an early start, bought some fruit on the way to work today, left it on my desk and have been randomly munching away at it !!

Re: Nutrition before breast augmentation
Yeah not long for me now .
Well done on your fruitage! I always found it hard to eat '5 a day' and still do but i have managed to get into a habit of eating more - i think as long as you eat some fresh fruit and some veg each day you will be fine! In fact when you get used to eating veg and/or fruit with every meal you start to really miss it if you have a meal without! Even when i have a pizza now I pile it up with veg!
Good luck xx

Re: Nutrition before breast augmentation
This is so important and something people don't talk about enough! With or without surgery....but especially when we put our bodies through this trauma....eat loads of fruit and veg. (Did anyone read Joanna Lumley's interview in the Times today about eating veggies? This is a good example.) I've noticed that it really affect my mood too! i.e.- I honestly believe I feel less anxious and irritable if I have fed myself food rich in the right nutrients. Taking care of this is something surgery can never do! it's up to us x

Re: Nutrition before breast augmentation
i didnt really change my diet before surgery, although i dont eat particularly unhealthily anyway, but after surgery Ive been making sure i eat a well balanced diet, and making sure i get plenty of protein, as its good for healing
