Is breast tissue the skin?
I am currently a c cup as I am breastfeeding but when I stop I will revert to form ( as I have after stopping breastfeeding before) and become a baggy but not saggy!! a cup.
I am pretty sure I will need unders but have heard that they can feel firmer as you are obviously feeling the muscle on top of the implant. So my Q is when you all talk about 'breast tissue' is that the skin or the breast under the skin too? If it is the skin then no probs! But I am bugg**ed if it is the bit under the skin too as they feel so thin when I am not BF and therefore I will def need unders.
If any of you have unders you feel are really natural looking and feeling or if you have had both types I would be really grateful for any input.
I am concerned about the pain slightly with getting unders too, although I have had four caesarians so have a reasonably good pain threshold! How does the pain compare for any of you who have had both a caesar and a BA?
Sorry for all the Q's. TIA for the replies xx

Re: Is breast tissue the skin?
The skin is different from the tissue hun, the breast is made up essentially from fatty tissue and skin.
Its best to let a surgeon decide if you need unders or overs as if you are quite 'baggy' unders may not be suitable and you may need some form of a lift, or you may be fine with either under or over the muscle, it really depends.
I had unders and had no pain, just soreness really. I would see at least 2 surgeons for their advice x

Re: Is breast tissue the skin?
Hi Kayla,
I currently have overs which feel very soft etc but am planning to have a re-op in Feb to go bigger gona call tomarrow to confirm hopefully, this time i have been advised to have unders as i had very little breast tissue to begin with and have some rippling even though i had a small implant(210/220cc)
Im also worried about how different they will feel and if i will get a clevage etc but if all goes to plan will have my op in feb and then will have experience of both so will prob be quite useful for others and if you havnt had your op by then would be happy to let you no how i get on as sometimes you get get a choice of unders or overs as i did at one consult. x

Re: Is breast tissue the skin?
Thanks holly, good luck in Feb!
I would, like you say be very interested in how you get on. I won't be having my op till late 2010, So if I could benefit from your experiences, that'd be really good.
Thanks so much xx

Re: Is breast tissue the skin?
Hi hun as nads has said it isn't just the skin which makes up the breast tissue. Although skin is a contributing factor as to whether you need unders or overs. Plus yours and your surgeons preference for look and feel. I had overs and although I didn't have lots of breast tissue, I did had enough tissue for overs and my skin was thick enough. You really do need to be seen by a surgeon for them to decide. I think they do some sort of pinch test on your skin, I can't remember how much they need to be able to pinch.
Re: Is breast tissue the skin?
I was a 34c but pretty empty and surgeon went with 410 unders for me. They feel quite soft now but they didnt start getting like that till after i hit 6 months post op.
I can also feel where the implant starts and my breast tissue ends, and cant get much of a cleavage with ordinary push up bras. I wasnt really given much choice with the unders, I would have thought I would have gotten overs since I had some breast tissue to start of with, but I guess it was the surgeons preference. Plus side they do look very natural.
I am planning to get a re-op as didnt get the fullness I wanted.xx

Re: Is breast tissue the skin?
hi hunny well i had unders for my first and second b/a then changed to overs with my third back in feb to get a more natural look and feel.
i started with 350 unders and they felt very firm and din't move and also i hated the flex distortion when exercising.
i find now that i have overs they do feel softer and move much more than the unders.
when i had unders i could see rippling in certain positions and it is also the same now, i think everyone can depending on which way they are standing or lying etc.
as for pain well ive had a c section too i would say it's prob about the same amount of pain but different if that makes sense lol.
i too have a high pain threshold and really didn't find either particularly painful tbh, just uncomfortable.
i also started out with very little breast tissue so went with my surgeons advice but then decided to take the risk and change to overs.
ggod luck hun
