Changing to Overs - Mya
Hey girls,
I need your help. Specially the MYA girls. The thing is my surgeon has agreed that I need a re-op after a year of me complaining, but is refusing to change me to overs, saying he doesn't like the look, as it's not natural. I've told him that I didn't get the clevage I wanted with unders and he said it's because I'm not wearing the right bra. I'm just wonderin whether surgeons can refuse to change the placement of the implants.
If you lovely ladies could let me know please. Thanks.

Hey xx_fina_xx,
How annoying!!!!
God don't you just hate the waty some surgeons think they have a right to keep telling you what YOU should have with YOUR money!!? Lol!
You know what, I had unders too (with a lift) and there is still no way in hell that I will ever get a cleavage. I didn't before and I don't now. My boobs are naturally quite far apart.
But also, I found nads's post on 'Will I get a cleavage?' very good in explaining all the reasons why you may or may not get a cleavage. I guess its also down to your frame.
I also thought that if I had had overs it'd given me that more squishy cleavage look and was a bit sad that I didn't have the option for overs (I had an anchor lift and needed low profile unders so that the muscle would give them that extra support) but then I read that and thought maybe it wouldn't have made any difference still???
Have a look at it, maybe it could help determine a few things for you first, its in the 'How to get your perfect boobs' section. Coz, it doesn't matter even if I wear a SUPER wonderbra, I don't get a cleavage at all. I am a C/D cup, they hold up well and since the lift no longer hang in my bra, but there is no distinguished cleavage as such. :-( So your surgeon flippantly saying "You're not wearing the right bra" isn't very helpful and to be honest he shouldn't be trying to impose his own preferences on you. As long a you are a candidate for overs and they would be compatible with your body, sod wherther HE thinks it will 'look unnatural' at the end of the day, both the natural AND the 'unnatural' look looks great! :-)

Hi fina, I don't know think we've spoken before so I don't know exactly the problem you are having fixed at your reop?
I've had a placement change but that was because the muscle flex distortion wouldn't have changed if I'd stuck with unders. I still have a very natural look but then I had breast tissue to start with so wasn't going to risk rippling.
If you can give any more info of pics it would be great. xx

Re: Changing to Overs - Mya
hi hunny i changed from unders to overs back in may, i needed a re op as my laft boob was placed too far over to the left.
i decided i wanted to change from unders to overs and my surgeon thought it best to stick with unders to keep a natural look. well i told him i realised there was a risk of rippling or getting the fake look but i would rather take the risk and go for it anyway.
he agreed and i couldn't be happier now as i don't get the flex distortion anymore when exercising etc.
i could get a cleavage easily with my unders too although i didn't have alot of tissue but now i have a cleavage even without a bra on lol.
i would speak to your surgeon again and tell him you appreciate his views and concerns but you would rather take the risk to get the look you are after.
good luck hun xxx

Re: Changing to Overs - Mya
oh gosh hunny that's awful i can only imagine how you are feeling right now.
i don't really know what advice to give you tbh other than asking to have a second opinion with another surgeon from the same company and tell them you are not happy at all with the results and want it sorted.
i would definately persist with it though for sure because you have paid alot of money to have this done to make you feel better about yourself.
i think they really should have to do something about this and make sure you are happy with the end result.
good luck hun.

Re: Changing to Overs - Mya
Hello again!
Duno if you got what you wanted in the end with the re-op, I hope you did. Your surgeon sounded really unfair. :-(
Well I just wanted to share with you since posting my earlier reply that I have somehow managed to get my boobs to squash together enough and get a cleavage.....Although, this did require my using an old, very padded bra from New Look and cutting the straps and tying them round my neck instead in a halter fashion so that boobs are pulled higher than with a regular bra. :-)
I was over the moon, never seen my chest look that way so had to put it on my avatar. Thought I'd explain that coz I wrote that post before this miracle home made bra and before posting the picture. Didn't want you to think 'wtf is this girl talking about?' lol!
Well they look OK in a photo but in all honesty, if I wore that bra all day they'd probably flatten out of their 'strategic position' over the course of the day and not look quite so plump. :-(
Maybe try do the same, you never know, maybe we have the same chest frame and thats why we find it harder to get a bouncing cleavage even though we've had them enhanced!? (Explained in nad's post) I know you can get ready made halter bras in most shops but, try buying a cheap 6 quid gel filled one from Primark, and if it isn't already a halter style just cut the straps accordingly. That way if it doesn't work then you haven't wasted much. I find the gel ones that convert to halter and cross back etc are really good. Even when I had raisin saggies it at least lifted my chest to normal 23 year old woman's position. No cleavage, but under a T-shirt you would never have known how saggy they were.
I hope that might help a little?
If not then I hope that essentially you get what you want with the changing of placement. I think its out of order the surgeon be so flippant. Sorry hun. :-(

That must be really disappointing for your hun. Did he say that he thought they would soften and even up with time? Any chance of seeing a different surgeon or even your GP if you think it could be CC?
