4 week check up with consultant
hey all
so i went for my 4 week check up with the consultant that operated on me on the 5th dec. he is happy with them and gave them a good feel. took some photos too.
i asked about massaging then and he said it wont change anything too much???
i was concered about the hard scar too and he reassured me and said that scar tissue will be soft at first then get harder at about 3 months and then begin to soften again after 6 months
he also said i can wear normal wired bras now only if i am comfortable, thought this was a bit soon but he said its ok to.
so today i am off to find somewhere that will measure me as last time i went to m and s they said they wouldnt measure me till i am at least 6 weeks post op as they are not covered incase anything goes wrong
so wish me luck all......hoping im at least a d cup but they dont look that big to me

Re: 4 week check up with consultant
as they trust your surgeon so im sure he knows his stuff and you will be fine hun.
what sports bra have you been wearing? ive bought a few zip up ones from m&s as ive heard good reports about them, couldnt get the cheap asda or tesco ones in my size, band 32 is really hard to get hold of so had to order mine off the net.
so excited for you on your new bra shopping, i cant wait for that day, chucking out all the old bra's and replacing them with nice new ones!! haha xx

Re: 4 week check up with consultant
Yay glad your check up went well. My surgeon and nurse said I could wear a normal bra at 5 weeks, which was Tuesday so I am off out bra shopping today! yay!! I bought one in a 32e a few weeks ago and I wore it yesterday and towards the end of the day it started feeling uncomfortable, so I still wear my sports bra for bed. Plus its really comfy too!!
Kerry - I was told by my surgeon and nurse to get a band size bigger than you are to allow for swelling, I am usually a 32b but got 34DD and 34E and I must say that extra 2 inches was a god send otherwise it would have been too tight and uncomfortable! xxx

Re: 4 week check up with consultant
hi dancing diva, thanks for that info, i did consider getting a bigger band size hun, so my bf bought me a 34DD, so i have one in my collection, im just hoping if the others are too tight i can exchange them at the high street shops and not have to send them back via the post might just have a scout around and see if i come across any 34d's and e's when im doing my last bit of shopping next week. xx

You'll have fun shopping. When I first started wearing normal bra's, I did only for a couple of hours to start with, broke my babies in
