when can we wear wired bras?

Hi everyone
Was sat here wondering...when can I actually wear underwired bras? I ask as its so difficult to find non wired bras in my size or come to think of it , any size!!

Also why cant we wear wied bras? what does it do to implants?

Hi Hun

I was told by my surgeon I could wear normal underwire bras at 5 weeks post op, other girls have said earlier and I think even some surgeons suggest going home in a wonderbra! I am going to only wear an underwire bra when I am going out, and I am defo gonna wear my sports bra for bed a little bit longer - maybe 6/8 weeks.

My friend wore her underwired bra 3 weeks post op and it really irritated her scars but she also got lumps of scar tissue and on the implant where the underwire had been digging into her. I wouldnt risk it just yet.

Why not call your surgeon and find out what he recommends, from what i can gather most surgeons say 6 weeks xxx

Transform advise not to wear underwired bras until 6 weeks post op. Like DD said, it can interfere with your scars and I think that the underwire can stop your boobs from dropping into place properly.

i started wearing underwied bras at 6 weeks post op and i was fine no discomfort atall, i think they tell u to wait cos sometimes if your scars are still a bit sore the underwiring can rub on them xx

I've been told, I have to stop wearing my sportsbra today and to wear normal bras from now on when can we wear wired bras? Icon_eek

But this is the guidelines my surgeon sets out to his BA patients. His reason for wearing normal bras so early is to shape the breasts. But every surgeon is different but tbh I would love to be wearing my sports bra till christmas when can we wear wired bras? 557141

Hi - I went for my 5 week post op check, which was 4.5 weeks and my surgeon checked my scars, asked if I had any problems etc - of which ive had none, and says I can wear underwire bras now, and resume all normal activity with the exception of running.

So I think its down to what your surgeon tells you having given you a post op check past 4 weeks, but Im now 5 weeks+ and wearing a sports bra at night religiously, a light support sports bra to work (because I dont care re work!!) and then my fab new bras for nights out etc.

I was told at 6 weeks I could wear udnerwired bra's though I'm still in sports bra's cos I like the way they make my boobs look in day to day life, on a special night out I'd wear a proper bra though!
What size are you now hun, you look amazing! x

.x. i started wearing them at 6weeks but still wore my sports bra sometimes under normal tshirts since it couldnt be seen anyway. still wore it sometimes to sleep in too. x.
