Should I listen to my surgeon? Empty Should I listen to my surgeon?

Post by lisxxx9 2nd December 2009, 9:46 pm

At my 7day check up the nurse gave me a list of does and don'ts. Any questions I had about baths, lying on side etc.. I was told do what evers comfortable. So I haven't done any of them yet as scars healing well now so don't want to risk them and my left boob is still slightly swollen but feels heavy and like it will fall off if I lie on side. Sorry rambling anyway I was told to wear sports bra for further two weeks as my surgeon, wants his patients to only wear sports bras for 3 weeks. All the other surgeons at Transform were 6 but he's different, and everyone on here seems to be 6 weeks. ATM there is no way I could wear underwire, so I would need to buy wireless, so I thought what would the point be, I would be as well to keep wearing sports bra. Any advice would be great as I just don't know what to do.

Thanks

Should I listen to my surgeon? Empty Re: Should I listen to my surgeon?

Hi, my surgeon said to keep a sports bra on for 4 weeks, yet the patient co-ordinator at the same place said 6 weeks. I went for the 6 weeks, because i had paid so much money, i didn't want anything to go wrong.

Can't really remember about lying on my side,- think i took quite a while before i attempted to lay on my side, think i only tried it after i had cleared the 6 week stage.

Do whats right for you. If they hurt outside of a sports bra, then go and put it back on. Its your body and you want to take care of it.

I would do whatever your surgeon says, some girls are told to wear underwire early so that their boobs don't sit to far apart or something like that.
I did lie on my side after about 2 weeks and was fine. I did hug a pillow though as my boobs felt weird.

Thanks for that, definitely don't think I'm ready for underwire Should I listen to my surgeon? Icon_eek am going to buy one wireless bra and wear it for one day next week and see how it feels. My boobies are still quite tender so if in doubt it'll be back to the trusty sports bra Should I listen to my surgeon? 557141
