Re: December Buddies!
Thanks Ladies, thanks all of you, I appreciate your support more than you know it is really helping. I had a bad night and a bit overwhelmed with it all this morning but this afternoon have managed to pull myself together and getting on with everything ok.
Went and bought a book on breast cancer and read it cover to cover so a bit more clued up now and the whole thing feels much more bearable. There was a boob reconstruction bit and the pictures of the results didn't look that much different to me right now, just nice round implanted boob so that really really really helped!
Going to the hospital tomorrow for more tests so fingers crossed that will go as well as possible, my hunky chunk is coming with me so that will help.
So what the rest of you up to???
I got some scar reduction patches from boots as my nurse recommended them and they are a bit itchy but I think they might be working though £20 a box is not a cheap option. Wearing my lovely new calvin klein bra that my friend got me...get me!!
Cherry- how you doing with the size now, think I read you were going back to have a chat with your ps?
Georgie- great to hear the plagarisation got sorted all sounded like a load of academic power tripping to me! What you studying anyway?
xx

Re: December Buddies!
Hey my lovely,
I am soooo proud of the way you are handling this, you certainly are an inspiration to all of us babes.
Oh.... I had my review and my PS was completely blase about it and all 'you'll get used to it' and my patient co-ordinator aka 'glorified sales rep' was a pure biatch lol....
I think though that I'm accepting the twins more and loving being able to wear sexy size 'f' bras woo hoo....
Still lots of changes to go through; I think they are starting to drop (at long last - I thought it was NEVER going to happen).
Blimey.. where has the past 2 months gone girls????
Thinking of you Katy xoxoxox

You do right cherub!
Frig, I need to book my next check up... To be honest, I don't know if I want to go back to that clinic!! Think I'm going to write to head office soon, documentate everything that has been said etc and see if I can go to the Newcastle Clinic instead!
Yeah work is going grand, busy as hell... Been sitting in interviews this week and had to do my own wee one today, I LOVE it!! College is going good too.. Have another essay to do... for this coming Saturday workshop lol.
Was meant to start tonight, but chose vino and icecream instead!!!
(((hugs))) xoxo

Re: December Buddies!
hello ladies....
well I have finally had a good news day today.
My oh came with me and it was a really big help having him there, plus I think he wanted to form his own opinion on things and not just my potentially rose tinted one!
In summary:
1) I have a very very good chance of a full recovery.
2) I am having the lump out on the 11th Feb AND I am not going to loose my boob or even my implant, they are going to make a small incision near my nip and go in that way so minimum scar, take out the lump and sew me up leaving the rest of me totally intact. Boob will look not that different from now.... I am so relieved, yes its still horrid but I was really expecting so much worse. I will have to have radiotherapy which is going to mean daily trips to the hospital for a while but this is a painless treatment which preserves fertility and hair so on the scale of things thats bearable.
I will still need more tests to confirm that it has not spread so it could get worse yet, but my consultant was very positive with me and said that I should take it a step at a time but everything that he could tell right now looked like a good outcome was very likely.
The hospital was amazing and I met the plastic surgeon who is going to do my op and they were all very very efficient and I felt like a VIP no kidding there were always 4-5 people in the room making sure I was ok, taking notes and doing things for me.
I think my age has really made me a special case and to reassure the rest of you what I am going through is very very rare.
Georgie- you're brave taking History! hated that at school but from memory history has low lecture hours per week so that means you can party harder right?
Cherry- interviewing is a really hard skill I don't envy you at all having to do that... try to be friendly and then you can catch em off guard...oooh you can tell I am a nasty estate agent can't you!!!
Thanks for your thoughts and wishes everyone... keep thinking and wishing so far it seems to be working

thank you ladies I feel a lot better the last couple of days and have managed to tell the parents.... neither of which knew about the boob job but they do now and were fine about it!! (they could hardly be **naughty word** off with me though could they!!) Showed em to my mum and she said oh well yes they are nice aren't they! he he.... and now she wants to get her eyes fixed!
my lovely man has been amazing the whole time and really helping me to get on with it but when they said I could keep my implant and that they would be able to make an incision that would leave minimal scar I literally threw my arms up in the air and was like yes yes thank you yes great ok great great, ok this is going to be fine!!!
Having lovely steak and chips for dinner mmmmmm.....
hope y'all have a good week

Re: December Buddies!
Hiya Cherry
I'm doing just fine hun, boobies are healing well.
Went to see PS yesterday and he was really pleased with how my scars have healed. He said I should go and get measured and get a really nice bra.
I tried to get measured in Debenhams but the sales lady said they don't measure, you have to try a bra on and she tells you if its fits or not. I put on a 34DD but she said I needed an E. I was quite pleased untill I went to look for a bra....and couldn't find anything I liked in my size.
I'll have to try somewhere else and in the meantime stick with the horrible sports bras.
Bye for now.
