You'll be asked to go through your medical history, based on that, you'll be requested to have bloods done if needed, a MRSA swab possibly, an ECG... and any other tests they feel necessary pre-op... you may not need to have anything done but it all depends on your med history and what's requested by your surgeon... you'll also have pre-op pics taken sweetie. xxx
Re: December Buddies!
You girls are the best :-)
I have done medical history too already. Phew!!! I know my surgeon is good but i did wonder if a pre op was something more....not sure what though....lol x

Re: December Buddies!
Hiya girls...can I ask about the pre-op. My surgeon said I didn't have to have any pre-operative checks apart from MRSA...which he did last week and he checked my history at my first consult, is that enough do you think. I've had a couple of ops over the last couple of years and for both of those I had pre-ops were they took blood and did height, weight etc.
For you girls worrying about the GA...you'll be fine. It's really weird one minute your'e chatting away the next you're waking up and it's all over.
xx

Re: December Buddies!
hey girlies!!
helenascania- thats very true ur hav some smooth arms i hadnt thought of that....
at my pre-op I had a nurse talk thoroughly thro my medical history, she did my bloody pressure, height and weight, and she did some very 'attractive' pictures of my boy chest and she gave me some leaflets about what I can and can't do before the op and then gave we arranged an appointment to get my dressings off!
I had mine in october!! so mine was a looonng time ago!
alfie- thanks for the reassurance over the GA I really hope it goes ok also I think your checks should be fine, as long as you have gone thoroughly through everythin to do with your medical history. Surgeons and companies do things very differently so don't worry

Re: December Buddies!
Ohhhh HS and GP, the 12th (me too) and the 13th Dec is just around the corner... I seriously thought this week would drag by, but its now Thursday!!!!!!!
I had my pre-op medical last Sunday, there's really nothing to it and I wouldn't say you have to prepare at all, just make sure you haven't got any alcohol etc in your blood..
I'm preparing 'now' for before my BA... I've been 'running for Boobs', unlike most ppl would run for gold lol. So far doing 5 miles and a workout too every other day... I also walk around the park with my hound with my Slendertone belt on... The look I get from some as I'm all 'Ohhhh... OOOO' lol.
I too have a zip up tracky and got everything apart from my pesky sports bra... NO idea what size to get as the size the nurse said is too small!!!!
Don't ya think this is just the best pressie ever for Crimbo lol... I'm considering wrapping them up (somehow)
Oh... must get a v-pillow, good idea.... I have my dry shampoo too etc... What else do we need???
Good luck girlies!
Etta xo

Re: December Buddies!
Laura - you will be fine honey. I completely understand your fear though, i used to be like that....i had to go through IVF to get my son & could never inject myself i was a complete nightmare, then all of a sudden i got brave & from then on did every one myself. Including my clexane (blood thinners, i have a blood condition) & they had to be once a day till 6 wks post birth, & i did it. So proud of myself. This is coming from someone who passes out at blood tests!!! You will be fine, just relax....thats the key to injections.....think of having a nice sleep xxx
Well girls...i had another phone call today asking me to pop to hospital on sunday 6th for my clexane injection. Seems silly really as i still have some left from when i was pregnant & could easily do it myself (same stuff in same dosage) but i suppose they need to know i have had it. Its a minimal dosage but a requirement so needs must. I can't beleive how close it is now!!!!!!!!
