Not such a great day for me :-(
I've been trying to rest up as much as I can as I feel really tired today... but with 2 children at home I've had to do little bits and pieces. I feel so swollen, especially around my sides and round towards my under-arms. My boobs still feel like stuck on rocks and seem to take up most of my rib cage!!!
The absolute worst thing is that the **naughty word** anti-biotics have given me thrush! I've searched the house high and low for some Canestan cream, with no success. :pale:
Just a "down" day I suppose.

Oh thrush is miserable, poor you. *hugs* Hope you get to rest up tonight, I've heard so many people say that days 3 and 4 were the worst for them.

Aw hun, sounds like you have a touch of post op blues :( it must be so hard recovering with 2 kiddies and thrush is so horrible. How you're feeling is completely understandable and normal, you'll feel better soon hun, get your partner to give you a nice relaxing massage!

anestetic does cause a mild low in your hormones, your body has been through a lot. try to rest, if you can't get to the chemist to get some canesten, do you have any natural yogurt in your fridge? if so, use that insted,- works wonders.
hope you feel better soon

Oh hun, it's so hard trying to rest with little ones and totally sympathise with you with the dreaded thrush from them antiB's! That will just make you feel more run down so i agree with the girls and get some cream for it as soon as you can and once the little ones are asleep, rest, rest, rest ok xx
Hope you're feeling better soon hun xx

Sorry hun, we're all here to get you through the weekend. Can you ask your boyfriend to run out and get you some canesten?

Re: Not such a great day for me :-(
I've just managed to grab half hours sleep... wedged up on my mighty tower of many, many pillows... on my side... bliss!! I just couldn't face laying on my back propped up.
My bf had to leave for work at 5am and probably wont be home much before 9pm :-( but I have asked him to stop at the supermarket on the way home and see if he can pick up some Canestan... I don't even know if they sell it in supermarkets.

I really don't know if I should have been laying on my side but I was securely coocooned in my thousands of pillows... and my back was **bad-bad-potty-mouth-angelpie-word** killing me!!

Blimey, I'm still on my back & it'll be four weeks tomorrow!! I've tried, but it just doesn't feel right... ugh!!
Think supermarkets should have thrush stuff, but if not, natural yogurt on a tampon (sounds icky!!) should do the trick too.
Hope you feel better soon... apparently the anesthetic can make you feel a bit down around day 3... (I blubbed right on que!!)

Re: Not such a great day for me :-(

quick update
Quick update.
My lovely bf did come home with the Canestan cream and tablet... bless him... what a modern man LOL! So hopefully the annoying thrush is on it's way out (how nasty is **naughty word** thrush?!!)
I'm having to majorly fight the urge to scratch under my boobs, where the dressings are. I think that it's the "sticky" from the dressings where it's got a bit hot and bothered under my bra.
I did sit up a long time last night (in my bed, on my iPhone.... eww sore eyes!) trying to seach for info about redness. As I quite scared myself when I had a look without my bra on... cos going round the side of my right boob, seeming to extend from the dressings, my poor boobie was all red and hot :pale: I haven't taken my dressings off at all so I'm hoping no infection has got in; and I figure that if I'm not in pain (or experiencing high temperature) I should just NOT LOOK!!! I have heard other girls say that if there's genuinely something wrong you'll just know (kind of sixth sense thing). So I'm just going to bumble on today and hope for the best.
Oh and thank you ladies for all your kind words and support yesterday.

Re: Not such a great day for me :-(
Im glad yore not feeling as low today. Youre only 4 days post op so the new boobs are gonna be still super swollen and I think the redness/hotness must be due to that. I think youre right as long as you have no temp or pain it cant be due to infection.
Keep on pootling along each day gets easier - promise

Re: Not such a great day for me :-(
Hi hun, keep an eye on that boobs, if its really red and hot it can be a sign of infection, im sure its not but if its still like that by monday give your ps a call. Aw how lovely of your fella, hope you feel better theres nothing worse than thrush xxxx
Re: Not such a great day for me :-(
I really hope I've not got an infection :pale: I have no idea how they come about... surely if I've not uncovered my incisiions I should be ok? My right side is a little more tender than the left, but conceivably that could be because I have probably used my right arm more. Ahhh I dunno. My bf is working today and tomorrow but is off on Monday... if things still are a bit odd I'll call the nurse after my kids have gone to school and if necessary get in to London to see her.

Re: Not such a great day for me :-(
Some people get them hun even if they do everything right so it wouldnt be your fault, im sure its not an infection. If they are a little red and warm thats ok but if they are very red, you would be able to tell if something really wasnt right, my boobs were pinkish for the first 2 weeks xxx

Just wanted to say I felt really low on Valentines Day!! Which was 3 days post-op! Must have been the GA!
And my boobs, like Nads', were also warm and pinkish, but keep an eye if they get really hot or if you start feeling unwell.
Hope you're feeling better hun x

Re: Not such a great day for me :-(
Hi all!
My body clock is all up the shoot at the moment! I sat up to the wee small hours watching a film last night... but then got up at 5am to see my boyfriend off to work.
I spent the morning pottering... getting school uniforms ready for tomorrow etc (although my kids are at their Dad's today, so no actual "kiddie" duty until later this evening). I also had to wash my hair... it was driving me crazy!!! My head was getting all itchy from where I have been propped up on my tower of pilows, getting hot all night. I didn't feel in pain washing my hair, but I really hope I've not stretched my scars :pale:. I leant over the bath to do it and feel so much better for having washed my hair for the first time in 6 days!!!!!!!
I then propped myself back up on my pillows and watched about 4 episodes of Friends on DVD... my kind of "chewing gum for the mind".
I then fell back to sleep for goodness knows how long, and have just materialised now! I don't feel too bad. Still swollen and still paranoid about what's under my dressings. I will sure feel a lot happier when Friday comes round and I can have them taken off and see what my incissions are like.
