How long have you wanted a breast augmentation?
and how long after you decided to get one did you go through with it?
Did you suddenly decide one day that you wanted one and get it pretty quickly after or did you want it for ages and wait until you were sure?
I always wanted bigger boobs since i didnt develop any, watching all the other girls in my school grow boobies (i went to a same sex school too) was heartbreaking. But the actual idea of getting a boob job didnt occur until i was about 19 because i knew there was no way i could live being so flat forever, so i started researching. Finally got it done at 22 and havent looked back!

Re: How long have you wanted a breast augmentation?
Oh here's a good question! I too went to a same sex school and found PE/swimming etc a nightmare! I was always of the opinion that breast augmentation was for the rich and famous... and that I'd never be able to afford it. I kind of convinced myself that I should be happy with what I had, and that my boobies had fulfilled their role in life by feeding my children! The truth of it was that I was just kidding myself really and that I just didn't feel womanly and confident how I was. So after a years of wishing and then a further year of proper research I went for it at the grand old age of 42!

Re: How long have you wanted a breast augmentation?
Great question hun! Same here, I totally recognise myself in what you say, I have been suffering from my lack of boobs since I realised that the truth wasn't that I was developing slower than the other girls: they actually weren't going to grow at all! I was this skinny thing with a flat chest (I still am!) and it has always made me feel so much less attractive than other women! It's awful isn't it? I have always thought about BA but I always let other people's opinion influence me: friends, parents, my ex, everyone always told me I was crazy, that if I wanted to waste money on some idiotic vanity I was better off giving it to charity etc... no one stopped to think how I was feeling!! But, as silly as it sounds, fear of facing criticism did have an effect on me for a long time... you have to understand that I come from italy and although they are obsessed with beauty, everyone tends to be quite moralistic and traditional over there!! I bet more people than here have plastic surgery but at the same time is still a controversial topic and a taboo. So I waited too long! I am 32 next month, and single, and at a point in my life where I don't really care what others think if I am happy and not harming anyone. So finally... I am getting my long awaited boobies!

I completely understand this hun, my family on my mum's side are Turkish and muslim but my family are from a secular state, Cyprus, so its a bit more relaxed, even so it is quite taboo still. I will not be telling my nan!!
Re: How long have you wanted a breast augmentation?
I have told my parent and they have been surprisingly supportive, I guess it's because now they understand that I am not a little girl and I will make my own decisions regardless, so they have decided that there was no point in arguing and are actually being very helpful! They did surprise me because I have talked about this in the past and their reaction was always of shock and anger.

Re: How long have you wanted a breast augmentation?
Since I was about 17, so that's....1984ish? But I've always tried to convince myself that I should just accept myself as I am, that I was just being influenced by the media, and a sexist culture, and blah blah blah; that I almost owed it to myself to be happy as I was. And for long periods of time I *can* be happy like I am: I know how to dress to look good flat-chested, I've got over an awful lot of the worst of my insecurities. But the basic insecurity was always just there, ticking away in the background, and exploding from time to time, no matter how stupid I told myself I was being. Then last year a lot of things in my life changed, and I thought, f*ck it. Now I feel I owe it to myself to just stop wasting time worrying about it, and go and get it done.
So, in the background, 20-odd years; deciding I really wanted it, about 6 months.

Re: How long have you wanted a breast augmentation?
i have wanted ba since i was 18 sooo 10yrs ago now. i looked into when i was 18 and i had a consultation at nuffield, i got scared and bottled out.
im glad i waited though because since then i have had 4 children and would need them doing again by now. when my family was complete and hubby had the snip i started to look into it again soo around may last year.
i had 1 consultation at transform and 2 at mya before making my decision. now i have boobies yey and so far so good and no regrets so far.
i always felt like a teenager and as my daughter is now 11 her boobs were beginning to get bigger than mine.
i now feel like a woman just cant wait until they settle and come closer together but its early days yet.
hugs

Re: How long have you wanted a breast augmentation?
I think since I was 18 when I started taking 'breast enhancing' tablets. I had always hated my chest but like you said nads it didn't occur to me I could change that early on... I thought I'd have to live with it forever!
I'd decided to go through with it last year after lots of thought and research but for me its waiting on the funds or until I get lucky on the lotto ;) lol

Re: How long have you wanted a breast augmentation?
Hi i've thought about having a breast enlargement for years. In December i requested information over the net from Transform, as i thought i would just get some information. However i then got a phone call from the patient co -ordinator inviting me in for a consultation and i thought yes i will go to finally find out once and for all whether a BA was for me or not.
Went to that, didn't get put off, so booked to see a surgeon. Went to that and booked a BA. I've had many wobbles since about whether i'm doing the right thing or not, but as yet i haven't cancelled it.
I've had two occassions since when it looked like i would have to cancel it due to commitments, and on both occassions i felt really down, so i guess it is something that i do want to have done.
fingers crossed!!!

Re: How long have you wanted a breast augmentation?
I guess I've wanted one forever. I had my first child when I was only 17 (she is now 20) and breastfed her for a year because I wanted to do everything properly to make up for getting up the duff so young. Any way the titchy boobs I had became soggy, saggy titchy boobs and I always hated the way they looked in and out of clothes. I am also a fitness fanatic and that is the only bit of your body you cant improve with training which always bugged me. Ive researched like mad over the years but always felt I couldnt really do it like I wasnt worth it (daft but thats me). A good friend had hers done last yr which made me think for gods sake just get on and do it woman, it is attainable and you dont have to be a movie star or the like! The time seemed right and although its taking me a little longer to adjust to the new me than I anticipated I am glad I finally did it.

Re: How long have you wanted a breast augmentation?
I felt just like Nads at school and have been unhappy since the age of 14 and now I'm 29. I honestly didn't seriously consider it until last July - had consults in Aug and Sept and booked in Jan for Feb! So mine was fairly quick, but once I started researching and realised how safe it was and not such a big deal, that was it, my mind was made up.
I'm ashamed to say that I even tried those Erdic pill things a few years ago...what a total rip off. I wasted over £200

Re: How long have you wanted a breast augmentation?
Mine were always up & down in size but were always nice & full so I never really had a big issue until just over 3yrs ago when i breast fed and it literally emptied them and they became quite saggy and they were riddled in stretchmarks which look so much worse on saggy boobs!!
I absolutely hated them to say the least, they were never uncovered and i even destroyed my pre-op pics going from bouncy balls to floppy ears was so destroying.
I can honestly say to you all with my hand on my heart
I DO NOT REGRET HAVING MY BA
Bet that's shocked a few of you........xxxxx
Wait till next week... i'll have a bouncy ball & a floppy ear!!

I feel sooo much the same: you get on with it, it's not like it makes your life impossible, you tink you must accept it... but if you look closely you realise you never really do!! Then las year a close friend died and that has made me reconsider so many things... like not to waste my time being unsatisfied with things I can fix, not to wait until everything and everyone around me is perfect (it will never be) before starting to really live and do the things that I want to do - we only have one life! so the BA is only a small part of quite a big change of attitude on my side...

Re: How long have you wanted a breast augmentation?
Since I was around 15/16. Same goes for my nose. I started saying to my mum "i want a boob job" but she thought i was being silly and that i would grow out of it and you dont need big boobs etc. When i was around 16 i discovered the Panache gel bra which became an everyday item for me right up until i got my BA. I felt embarrassed about my tiny boobies.. and Id been bullied about my nose and it was getting harder trying to hide it everyday. I sent for info in Feb last year, and got my BA and rhinoplasty aswell done in May x

OMG What a bitch. I get all defensive now for small breasted women ... I was out at Christmas and someone mentioned my boobs ( :o) ) and this bloke said his wife didn't have any. I seriously got defensive and told him he shouldn't be talking like that. What I really wanted to scream out was "I was just like that ... you bas*&rd".
Anyway. I've hated my boobs since school when they just didn't grow. I always thought that a boob job was for other people. I often thought about it fleetingly, but would always think, no, not an option for me.
As the years went by, split from my ex husband (who shouted stuff about my boobs in the street ... wan**er ... and I began thinking about it a little more seriously and started saving money - not knowing whether I'd actually spend that amount and go through with it.
In April last year, I decided, RIGHT, I'm going to do it. I was fed up with being unhappy with my size, so started seriously looking into things. I have two consultations, and booked on the day of my second consultation for four weeks later. I so love having boobs. I look at them every day and am grateful that I'm not how I was, that I had the guts to go through with it.

Re: How long have you wanted a breast augmentation?
When I was a teenager I just convinced myself that I was a very late developer but by 18 I realised that I was just destined to be flat chested. Over the years my confidence has been destroyed by my flat chest, even though I have a wonderful husband, who did his best for 12 years to convince me that I was perfect as I was, but deep down I was so desperately unhappy with my boyish figure.
Like some of you have said, I thought boob jobs were just something celebs and the rich had, but over the last few years a few people I know have had them done and it just dawned on me that this was the answer to my prayers and what was the point in being miserable about my flatchest, when I could do something about it.
So last April, I was having another one of my moaning/crying sessions to hubby about how unhappy I was with my non existent boobies and he said he would give me money towards a ba, I was over the moon! I spoke to my mum and she offered to pay the rest for me. I still didn't rush into it though, I spent months thinking about it and making sure I was making the right decision and in November 08 I finally booked some consultations and decided that I definitely wanted to go ahead with ba. I'm sooooo glad that I have finally done it and I finally have boobies at the age of 30. They might not be huge but they are all mine and my confidence is already starting to improve.
Apart from getting married and having my beautiful daughter, it is the best thing that has ever happened to me :) .

God, I can't believe some people!
I'm similar to a lot of you...just thought I was a late developer seeing as most of the women in my family are at least a D cup. But no...I just never grew! So probably since I was about 15. Then when I was about 20 I started looking into it, having brochures sent out etc...but stuff was going on in my personal life and it took a back seat. Then I started seriously researching about a year ago, and woohoo I now have boobies at last

Re: How long have you wanted a breast augmentation?
I think I was about 13 or 14 when I noticed in the changing rooms at school after PE that my best friend had grown boobs over night. I've been waiting for mine to grow ever since.
At 18 I did all sorts of research, and clung on to the fact that some girls don't develop until they're 21...
Anyhoo... they didn't grow & still paranoid by my flat chest, I got on with my life... I always thought boob jobs were reserved for the rich & famous, so didn't give it any serious thought...
Then, last Autumn, I was at the gym, and realised a girl I'd seen there quite often before, had had a boob job (it wasn't obvious, they were a natural size, but when you're obsessed & compare yourself to everyone else, you notice when someone has boobs that didn't a few months ago...) & it just hit me... real people have boob jobs!
I booked a couple of consultations, and here I am, four weeks post-op tomorrow! :-)
