Found 3 bits of stitches
Had a lovely bath last night, washed my hair and took off my steri strips and let the scars air for a bit.
Got out my little mirror to have a peek at the scars. Run my finger along and found 3 bits of my stitch poking out. E[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Had to really stop myself from picking. I rubbed some cream in and put clean steri strips on.
Was really shocked to find them after nearly 4 weeks. Hey ho. Just thought I'd update you all x

I was the same Jem, still had one hanging out at 5 weeks was horrible we all heal differently though so its nothing to be worried about, i kept mine covered with healing pads from boots as the strips kept falling off, they should be gone soon hun.

I do to try and stop infection getting in them. Plus they stop your bra irritating the scars too.
I think I'll keep using them until scars are good and healed up

Re: Found 3 bits of stitches
i think my nurse said it was optional, maybe cos i had nipple incisions - she said as long as they arent uncomfy its probs best not to wear the steri strips! i dont feel any discomfort anymore so have not made any use of the steri's!
cant wait to see dr.moraci on tuesday, i am hoping (very optimistically, and probably wrongly!) that he may let me out of this awful sports bra now as my boobs are completely pain-free, my scars totally healed and now almost invisible, and i just feel completely normal - and my first surgeon said i only need wear the sports bra for 4 weeks! my boobs look so much better in a normal bra or bra-less than in this horrid squashing down sports bra!! these 6 weeks are going far far too slowly!! xxx

Re: Found 3 bits of stitches
Remember josey that you might feel good and think you boobs are too but there's still a lot of healing going on inside. Just be extra cautious. You don't want to harm them

Re: Found 3 bits of stitches
Yeah, me too, I had a stitch hanging around for about 2 months! It was in the place where I used to have a little hair growing around my nipple (Just like The Fly!). It went away in its own time ...

my dad said something similar the other day! i am just so over excited to have boobies finally its hard to not be rushing around in excitement all the time!! but i think this is good advice , as you forget that there is a lot of healing going on inside the boob as well as outside - i would hate to harm them, i love them far too much! xxx
