One week check up
Went for my 7 day check up yesterday. Finally had the strips off and got to see my scars. They have knitted together but nowhere near starting to heal. Was quite shocker. Was expecting some scabs or lumps but nothing. They are literally just stuck together.
Was told I'll need atleast another 3 weeks off work and still can't stretch arms. Got to keep steri strips on for a week and can start rubbing cream into the scars then.
Got to go back in 8 weeks. So happy with everything though, love them x

Re: One week check up
It's hit me today that I really need to be resting my arms. My ps said yesterday I had a tight feeling across my scars bc I had non stretch stitches so I could have torn them at any point.
Am going to be extra cautious now as I don't want to split my scars open.
Thanks for all your lovely comments x

Ahh Jemmy... it's funny, when we're working hard we would love three weeks to just rest and do nothing... when we're told to rest and do nothing we want to work!!
xx

Re: One week check up
I was getting dressed today and noticed something really strange by my steri strip on leftie. Had a lil feel and realised that it was my scar. It was hard, lumpy and a definate scar line. The nurse had obviously not put the steri strip up at enough.
Have had to cover it now with a plaster as I wasn't prepared to pay £20 for a lil pack of scar strips.
My swelling between my boobs has gone down and I can feel my chest bone now and my boobs have come together more. So so happy

So glad you happy. I have to admit i am worried about having my op (whenever that may be) cause i have 3 very young children. The lifting and getting them dressed is worrying me. x

Re: One week check up
hi jemmy, sounds like you are healing nicely, do as they say and take it easy now. It will be worth it
Re: One week check up
Hi Jemmy,
Thanks for that info. I have my check up on Tuesday and i was expecting the scar to have maybe a lump or something, so if this is not the case, i won't be too shocked! Hope you're resting up.....i need to do more resting myself and not over do things. I feel fine but have to remember that my body is still healing. xx
