Evening Primrose Oil
Hi Girls,
Can't find anything about the above on here so thought I would ask. I take one a day high strength Evening Primrose Oil capsules every day as I get pretty bad PMT!!! :evil: . Just not sure whether I should stop taking these on the run up to my BA?

I think evening primrose oil may act as a blood thinner - I've put a link below. Also the supplement probably has vitamin E in it as well (the Boots one I took used to), which you are supposed to avoid two weeks before. Vitamin E supplements and aspirin help to thin the blood, which could cause excessive bleeding in surgery.

I would ring clinic too as Sam suggested, it is best to follow their advice ...I would request they send you all pre and post-op advice and care management to follow. It eases the stress and enables you to enjoy the whole process. Good Luck xx

Hiya,
I've been taking high strength evening primrose oil for years due to pmt, I didn't even think to mention it to my clinic or stop taking it before my ba!!! Best to be on the safe side tho Gemma like the others have said and check just incase x (btw, there is no vit e in mine)
