girls with 2 or more cup size differnce need advice (am an nhs pre BA)
Hi ladies, am new here and really needing advice. Seen surgeon at NHS yesterday who agreed NHS will "correct me problem" but he said he's do one implant in my smaller breast. I really dont want this at all, as i'll end up with one high and full and the other still hanging and saggy. I know i should be grateful that the NHS will do something but i know i wont be happy with that. Dont get me wrong am fully aware that they will always be different but i'd rather they were full and slightly different than what he suggested.
Anyway i havve to pass a psychology test to ensure i'll cope with surgery and meet him again to show me the size he thinks and discuss what i think and then book op. If any of you ladies would show me your photos that would be amazing.
any advice is welcome.
Thanks, Sarah xxx

This is a tricky issue, I have the same problem but mine is associated with a recognised congenital defect which means my ribcage is not level either. The NHS do have specific guidelines on what they are prepared to do for regular assymetry, you may find that your only option is to pay to have it done privately but bear in mind, if you have private plastic surgery then the NHS will outright refuse to do anything further for you.
I would get through your psychiatric assesment and then speak to your consultant about it again explaining your concerns.

hi again hunny, there is a gilr with very similar situation as you and i'm sure she will be along shortly to to chat with you.
i think it's awful that your ps would want to put in one implant and leave the other. i really don't know what they think they are going to achieve by doing this. it is not going to make the patient feel any better and in fact you may feel worse afterwards as they will both look and feel so different.
i said the same to the other girl too as this is what her ps suggested they do too.
i think you should go back and see him once you have had your psychology test and tell him you are very grateful that he is willing to fix the small one but you would feel so much more confident in yourself if he could try even nthem up and make them look and feel similar by maybe putting a smaller low profile implant in the bigger side.
i really feel for you hunny and don't understand the way some surgeons think tbh, as no doubt he must know you will be back at your doc feeling just as bad and may be reffered again and so he would have to do a second op anyway.
i hope you have some luck when you speak to him again hunny, i'll have my fingers crossed for you.

Hey lovely,
What sizes are you now? It might be possible to have a smaller implant placed in the bigger boob and a bigger implant in the smaller one so there is a similarity between the both.
Can you have any free consultations in the meantime to get an idea on what they'd suggest? If you make it clear you don't want your GP to know they cannot release any information to him, so your NHS position will still be safe.
xx

This may have been understood, you can as Roxy pointed out have as many private consultations as you like and it won't affect your chances of NHS treatment, what I mean't to say is that if you do decide to have this problem corrected privately and still feel you're not happy or if you need to have further correction in the future, then the NHS won't be able to help.
I actually have an appointment with my consultant on 25th August because I'm not sure that even when mine are corrected they might still be small on my frame. If you want I'll test the water a bit for you and see what he says?
But I know how you feel, it's a very fine line you have to tread to make sure that you don't just seem like you want a free boob job

Re: girls with 2 or more cup size differnce need advice (am an nhs pre BA)
Hia, I was in exactly the same situation as you. I had a small right breast a/aa left b/c I went to the NHS and they talked about fat transfers and about doing one implant and uplift on the other. But after a year of waiting and being prodded and poked/body scans I got really upset and went private. Didnt want to wait any more. And I think only people with this prob can understand how hard it is to tell people about this problem then to be told you have to wait longer and longer.
So the same consultant I had been seeing did it private. He wanted me to have an uplift to the left and implant to the right. However I pushed that I wanted an implant due to the feel and perkyness of them. And he was happy to oblidge!
So i now have 165cc in the left and 260cc in the right. They look fab..the right is still very pointy 7weeks post op however there was less tissue on the right. I am now a 32 dd/e and have a clevage!
I would discuss your worries with you PS and see what he says. Tell him that you dont want to be bk seeing him in 5/10yrs time when aging occurs on the bigger boob and your wanting an implant in it/uplift. Im sure he will be understanding :)
If you want to chat about anything else just PM me

Oh yeah because of the NHS's new initiative the longest you'll have to wait for surgery from the point of being referred by your doctor is 18 weeks, you can read more about it here

Have you got funding from your PCT yet?

Re: girls with 2 or more cup size differnce need advice (am an nhs pre BA)
Hi ladies, thank you all so so much for all your info.
I called a private clinic this morning and got a cancellation appointment this afternoon. They said they could easier put in a larger implant in my right and a smaller one in my left, and i would still have a slight height and fullness issue but nothing like what i have just now. So was pleased to here that but the price tag that followed was depressing.
My right breast is an A cup and my left just about fills a D cup bra but is empty when i have nothing on. I'll see if i can get a pic on my profile just now.
I didn't realise that about the nhs, thats great about the 18week thing. Yep the scottish NHS has money put aside for this type of thing so PS said as soon as i see him again its just fitting me in.

I'm an oddy and had 170cc and 230cc private though x
I don't think I would have been happy with just one implant hun x I would definitely tell the NHS PS that you think it will cause more problems in the long run having just one implant x

Yes they all have money to fund these cases but your consultant has to write to your local PCT to secure funding although I'm sure that he'll make a good case for you so you will have no problems
