Can I swap between scar creams?
My surgeon only gave me one sachet of cream to use and it has almost all gone, I ordered a bottle of it last weds after he gave me the sachet but it's still not arrived! Can I use organic coconut oil for the weekend until it arrives or is there something else you would suggest?
Thanks ladies, happy Saturday!

I don't think it really matters Hun. Some women use coconut oil, others specialist scar treatments others absolutely nothing! There is no right or wrong answer just do what you think best. I swap between a vitamin oil recommended by surgeon and simple vitamin e oil from Holland and barratt
Hope you're doing ok, you look great!! Xx

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Thanks sweetie, ahh ok well I just don't want them to feel dry over the weekend so if it's ok to put anything on them such as bio oil or coconut oil until it arrives then I'll do that.
Yes recovery-wise I'm doing brilliantly thank you! Hope your well too :) xxx

Re: Can I swap between scar creams?
As long as your surgeon has given you the all clear to put cream on your scars, Im sure its fine to switch. It does seem incredibly early though. Not to doubt McGeorge, hes a great surgeon...but at this point there might still be microscopic holes in your scars, and anything wet, i.e. creams, are a breeding ground for bacteria. Im not trying to scare you, its just we had one girl whos surgeon said it was ok to moisturise at 2wks and she ended up with a nasty infection. I would just double check with your surgeon to be 100% sure.

Re: Can I swap between scar creams?
I have actually been thinking the same thing [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] - he told me to start using it from day 13 when I saw him, and I have only been using small amounts but my left scar feels sore and is scabby at the end. Going to keep my eye on it and not use any cream until it looks/feels better, I could always pop in for a check with the nurse next week if its not changed or got worse. I haven't used any oils just the scar cream he supplied..
