Consultation week
Hi everyone,
Consultation week is here. I had my first consultation today and have two more tomorrow.
Today I met with Michael Payne at The Hospital Group. Overall I was very disappointed. From when I turned up at the hospital to when I left I felt like I was on a conveyer belt in the boogie factory. I had about 20 minutes with the surgeon, most of which he spent reading from a list of complications and other things he had to tell me. I did get the opportunity to ask questions and when he was making small talk he came across like a nice person but the entire experience was very impersonal.
He spent about a minute measuring my breasts without really looking. He said I had enough tissue for overs but still somehow decided on unders without giving a reason. I was recommended around 300cc round implants. After seeing the surgeon I ended up trying sizers with a PCC. Out of the ones I tried on I liked the 315cc best.
It all felt very rushed and impersonal and I guess being the last consultation in the evening didn't help. I don't regret going as it has helped me clarify what I don't want and it was good to try the sizers.
Hopefully the two consultations I have booked tomorrow will be better. They are both with private surgeons so I am hoping for a more personal experience.

Re: Consultation week
I did the same thing - 3 consultations with private surgeons and one with thg. I never planned on going with thg so as I didn't care how it went I wasn't disappointed! Bit naughty but I just used them to try on the sizers and to get another point of view! They do seem a bit factory like - I wasn't a fan!
It's a good thing you did it though - u now have a rough idea of size which will help with your private consultations!
Keep us posted! Xx

Re: Consultation week
I was the same with using THG for sizes and an extra opinion. I never planned on going with them. I was just disappointed because I didn't feel I got much of an opinion tailored to me at all by the surgeon, just generic advice.
This morning I met with Miss Anne Dancey at Spire Little Aston. She was lovely and came across very professional. I liked her but didn't like her as much as I liked Mr Sterne last week. I'm seeing Mr Sterne for a full consultation tonight and if everything goes well with him again I am pretty sure he is the one.
Miss Dancey recommended I go for round overs and after trying on sizers with a very lovely nurse 330cc was my favourite size. If I hadn't already met Mr Sterne and liked him so much I think I probably would consider booking with Miss Dancey but she just didn't make the same impression on me. Hopefully I will like Mr Sterne just as much second time around tonight!

Sounds like you might have found THE ONE then!!! Let us know how you get on with Mr Sterne. It will be interesting to hear what size he recommends and the placement.

Re: Consultation week
I'm back from my consultation with Mr Sterne and he is definitely the one!
The consultation was great. I felt like he really cared. Every single aspect of my surgery was my decision but he also gave me enough guidance to make the right decisions. We had a long discussion about round vs teardrop implants and in the end we decided that the tiny difference in terms of a very slightly more natural result I could get from a teardrop probably wasn't worth it. He also talked me through the width, profile and firmness of the implants to help me pick the right ones. I also really liked that he was the one guiding me as I tried on sizers and not a nurse or pcc. Unless I change my mind I am going for 325cc round moderate profile overs. I am really excited now and as soon as I get my paperwork through I will speak to his secretary to find out about available dates.
I have found my perfect surgeon to give me my perfect boobies!

Re: Consultation week
I am so excited right now I'm even enjoying completing the medical screening form. Hopefully I should get my consultation notes and consent form soon and when I have signed the consent form I will be allowed to book a date. If I haven't had anything sent to me by tomorrow I think I will give his secretary a call anyway just to enquire about available dates. I just want to keep progressing towards boobies even if I know it will be ages until my op (I'm not looking to have it done until the end of April as that is the time that will suit me best).
