When to get fitted!?
IHi ladies
I'm exactly 4 weeks post op today and my surgeon has said from today I only need to wear my stabilising post op bra at night time. I think I'm gonna keep wearing it in the day for a little while. I find it quite comfortable! Anyway I need to get some non wired bras. I have two nice lacy ones from Sloggi in 32D which fit well but I need to get fitted so I know my current size.
How long after your ops did you ladies get fitted? Xx

Re: When to get fitted!?
Hello, your avi looks fab, will be good to finally know your size!
However I would say your still quite early so don't go mad just yet buying! A belvia or Genie or super comfy for now.
Also just to note...I wrote this very thread when I was 4 weeks and wanted to know my size, just for some non-wired bras. I went to Debenhams and they refused to measure me as I was still so early on in recovery. There policy (or so she told me) is 8 weeks? So just be aware that they may not measure you anyway.
They will literally change over and over again in this next few weeks.
Glad your enjoying them though, they look fab so far

I was 8 weeks when I got measured. I went to 3 different places. I found Victoria secret the best and so helpful. I would wait a while ( I no it's hard ) you have to be patient !!!! Xxx

Re: When to get fitted!?
Most underwear shops will measure you but just be aware at 4 weeks you'll still be pretty 'box fresh' so your size is likely to change. I think when I first got measured (maybe 8 weeks PO?) it was at Bravissimo but I didnt have the greatest experience!
For most people though, its a really exciting time so looking forward to hearing how you get on :)
I didnt really get on with any soft bra's, I just found the fit bizzare and actually pretty uncomfortable. I wore one for special occasions but stuck to my sports bra most of the time. I didnt wear wires until the 3 months mark

Re: When to get fitted!?
I got measured at 4 weeks, as I wanted some nice soft cups to go away at 5 weeks with. I got a couple from debenhams, tesco and matalan but I mostly wear genie bras or m&s sports bras. I have definitely changed in that they are softer and have dropped but I don't think I've gotten bigger or smaller in size. I am almost 5 months po and not yet been given ok to wear wires, although I see ps later today (long awaited appointment) so hoping to get that all important clearing, then I'm off shopping xx

Re: When to get fitted!?
Thanks so much for all of your replies ladies very very helpful!!! I think I will wait until 8 weeks to go get fitted in that case! Southampton has a boux avenue and a Victoria's Secret so I think I'll go up there then I have some choice. My first follow up is 8 weeks post op too so it makes sense to wait !
This sounds so stupid but do you have to pay for fittings!? Where I have never needed one in my life I have literally no idea!
The two soft bras I currently have are really lovely I will take a pic in one. They're quite comfortable as well. I defo need to get q sports bra as well though because my stabilising bra has a band attached which is messing up my outfit choices haha xx

No definitely don't pay for fittings. They just want your custom. Some places that are busy you have to pre book like m and s. Victoria secret just go in and ask. Xx

Re: When to get fitted!?
I'd definitely recommend waiting a bit - I was so impatient that I got measured and fitted at around 5 weeks, and spent a small fortune on bras that now don't fit me as too big! I must have still had some swelling cos I was measuring 32E but now I'm definitely more like 32DD - probably quite unusual as some girls here seem to go up a size after a few months !! Xx

Thank you! Yes it is Wonderbra, my favourite! I've also just bought some Debenhams T-Shirt bras in the sales that are very flattering too! X

Re: When to get fitted!?
I think I may of gone up a size.. to 34F.
I tried loads of bras yest in Debenhams: 34E and the wires were digging into me as if they weren't going 'around' my breast enough, and I had 4 boobs!!!
Looked fab for cleavage, but it was undoubtably too tight and small.
Tried a few brands too and was the same with all.
Thought my bras were feeling a bit uncomfy lately.
I kept adjusting the straps, then I would be moving the bra up, moving it down
What a pain, I have loads of E's.
Some are ok...but really, there not right. gutted!
I'm gona update my picturetrail cos I think they may have dropped more.
