Reassurance needed re round or anatomical!
I am booked to have round overs 200cc or 240cc, I am now having a real panic about whether I should have anatomical instead!!!!!
I really don't want a round/fake look.
Will rounds settle & look natural?
I have read on here before that rounds eventually settle to be more like anatomical anyway, but is this really true?
The more time goes on the more I doubt it all!!!
I am 37, 5' 3", 9.5stone, size 8-10, currently wearing 34b but I think I am actually 32b.
HELP!

Re: Reassurance needed re round or anatomical!
Yes definitely with time round implants settle to look anatomical, Ive seen it over and over again on picture trails and often you can't tell if a girl has round or tear drops.
I know that the fact they are under the muscle helps achieve that although its mainly gravity that does the trick.
If you trust your surgeon you should follow his advice :)
Also Round doesn't equal fake.
But if you can't get the doubt out of your mind go and see another surgeon who specialises in anatomical and ask for a 2n opinion..
All the best !! xx

Re: Reassurance needed re round or anatomical!
Rounds don't stay round thanks to gravity and actually end up in a sort-of teardrop shape anyway.
Something to consider if you're worried about them looking "fake" is going under the muscle or for a low/moderate profile (rather than high/ultra high profile) implant.
I'm sure your surgeon can advise you if you explain your concerns to him. You're not going for super large implants so I'm sure you'll look natural anyway.

Re: Reassurance needed re round or anatomical!
I'm just saying this to give my experience as I have had both. If you have post breastfeeding empty droopy breasts then you may find the same as me. When I had rounds my surgeon wanted to go over but said not too big as you risk complications going too big. Once they settled I had two round implants with my breasts and tissue sagging off, drooping off the implants creating a waterfall or snoopy dog deformity effect. My nurse had the same with rounds and made me an appointment with the surgeon who helped her by replacing with anatomical implants. He went slightly bigger from 340cc to 410cc and changed from round to anatomical. I now no longer look deformed. I love my natural shape.

I think there is always a risk of still dropping if going top small of you don't want a life and don't have an implant big enough to take you to you post breastfeeding size. In this example a tear drop would give a mini lift. Rounds are good for breath where this little drooping as im sure 10 years ago rounds on me would have been fine

Re: Reassurance needed re round or anatomical!
I didn't breastfeed for long & boobs are not too much different than pre kids really, just slightly less full/firm (not that they were ever huge to start with - they certainly weren't!).
I'm not bothered about dropping & don't need a lift, I just don't want that Victoria Beckham round/stuck on look & am worried that I might get this with rounds which is why I keep swaying towards anatomical.

I quite fancied atanomicals myself but my ps said that if you have quite pert breasts with relatively high nipples then rounds are more suited. This is because atanomicals raise the nipple. They often use atanomicals with low laying nipples or for people with a bit of sag. Your ps should know best but always good to get a few different opinions!! Xx

Yes they life the nipped as the biggest projection is at the lower pole so good for saggy empty boobs. Rounds are better for flat but pert boobs.

Re: Reassurance needed re round or anatomical!
Spot the difference:
Rounds will eventually drop and fluff into an anatomical shape because gravity. A round implant does not equal a fake boob. And I'll admit, when I started my research, I was worried when I was recommended rounds. But they look amazing now. You'd have been given that option because it is the best for your body. If you trust your surgeon, then theyre the best for you.

I wouldn't call my boobs or nipples perky, but they are not saggy either. Nipples are not high, they are kind of normal possibly bordering on being slightly low if anything.
Both surgeons have said that because of small implants, that rounds will be fine but I am just driving myself mental with it all!

If you are unsure maybe ask another surgeon? It's down to what results you want I'm not saying you should go for anatomical but you don't seem very sure about rounds. Not many surgeons do anatomical as they are more difficult to place so it depends on which surgeon you speak to x

Re: Reassurance needed re round or anatomical!
I am exactly the same as you! I was certain anatomical implants were what I wanted, as I didn't want the round cleavage look. After doing a lot of research, and talking to a very experienced surgeon.. he told me I didn't need anatomical as the size of implant I am going for would make no difference. He said that he did a study with some of the top baaps surgeons to identify whether anybody could actually tell what implants were round and anatomical, with over 20 images to choose from. Not one could sort the patients into the piles correctly - as someone said in a previous comment, gravity ensures the implant forms a teardrop shape.
He also explained that really, the only time anatomical implants are used in his practice and knowledge are if I were to want very large implants with no high profile. So after this.. and knowing that there is also a 20% chance of rotation, I have decided round implants will do the trick perfectly. Hope this helps!
I am a 32B now and looking into 220/240cc implants! Stuck on sizing though! x

Re: Reassurance needed re round or anatomical!
Thanks for all of the advice. I have finally made a decision and am determined to stick to it!
I will be having 245cc anatomical unders on 3rd Dec!
Daisychain15, I was also told that because of the smallish implant that rounds would be fine, but I feel happier with anatomicals now I have made the decision. Bit apprehensive about having unders due to the pain but fingers crossed I will cope! (Also bit worried about rotation!).

It's good to see you have come to a decision. Good luck with it all. What size are you hoping to achieve?

Re: Reassurance needed re round or anatomical!
I'm thinking I will prob end up measuring/wearing a 32d or maybe a 34c? I find bra sizing a bit confusing, my underboob measurement/rib cage measures 31 but I have always worn a 34 as a 32 is pretty tight and makes me look like I have bulging back fat!
I just want to look in the mirror & feel that they are a bit bigger & better than they were, not overly fussed about hitting a certain size - easy to say now, lets see if I suffer from boob greed afterwards! ;)

I found a good link with information that may help. The risk of rotation for textured implants is 2 percent. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
