Post surgery bra recommendations?
hi ladies,
I'm looking for a post surgery bra, am I right in thinking the macom is the best one to get? Also if I measure my rib cage with a tape I'm 30" but I'm wondering if I should get larger to accommodate for swelling.
Any input would be great, thank you
Xx

There's no 'right' answer or 'best' one, but the Macom is recommended because you only need your band size, so you don't need to guess your cup outcome. If I were to do it all again and not spend a small fortune trying to get the right post op bra, I would buy a macom one size up to accommodate the swelling for the first 3wks, then invest in a cupped one once the swelling has settled, and you can give yourself a rough measure at home.

Seems like most people get macom bras but I think some surgeons will provide you with a bra or suggest something else. I saw some nice post-surgery bra's and front-closing sports bras in M&S the other day - although you'd need to know your cup size for these.

Hi I used the macom but it's all down to personal preferences. Some girls love them some not. It's a bit trial and error really at first. For me nothing was comfortable xxx

Thanks ladies. I forgot to click to watch the topic for replies so I've only just seen this. I don't see the surgeon again until the week before the op so I think I'll call his pa in the morning and check if one is provided or not. I keep forgetting I can ring her lol! X

Re: Post surgery bra recommendations?
There's very few clinics that do provide the actual bra, so do double check. They may well recommend one though. My PCC at THG said the M&S were good for the job. But I had a mare of a time finding the 'right' post op bra, mainly because I was in the wrong band size. I spent a fortune. Ended up using the Lonsdales, but as I said above, when I go again, I'll start with the macom and then move to a sized high impact.
Popular post ops on here are the macom, obvs, the shockabsorber run, the triumph triaction extreme, the Panache non wired, the Royce is a new one that's becoming more popular, I think that's a band only one again, and then there's the M&S zip front, or the 2pk high impact.
