Help with sizing and bras..
Hey ladies! Can't believe I'm going to be 5 weeks PO next week! Where has the time gone???
Feeling better and better all the time. Sneezing is still pretty iffy and a few shooting pains here and there but I'm loving my new boobs :)
One thing that is realllllllly bugging me - I cannot find a decent bra that I'm happy with. I've been wearing sports bras and yoga crop tops in size medium for example but I'm desperate to get a sized bra that is not so obvious under my clothing! However I got into such a state last week in M&S not knowing what size I am. . That I just gave up :(
Does anyone know where I can get measured this early on? Really need help on this one! I don't even know what band size I am anymore. I always wore a 32 but my surgeon was convinced I was a 34 (without even measuring me!!) And 32 doesn't seem to fit anymore.
One last thing. . I've just started to bruise on my incisions. . Is that normal 4 weeks on bearing in mind I wasn't bruised last week? Maybe I'm doing too much. . Who knows. Just would like to fast forward now!
Any help or guidance would be appreciated! ! Hope youre all well xx

Hmmm, I can't answer your question on the bruising Hun, but do try john Lewis for a fitting if you have one close by, they are fab x

Hiya [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] ! I agree with Middypaws that if u can get to a John Lewis they are fab at measuring. I also got measured at Boux Avenue and Bravissimo (I had to be sure lol!).
I can't help either re the bruising? I know what you mean about wanting to fast forward a few weeks cos I can't wait for the 'drop and fluff' stage to happen :-) xxx

Re: Help with sizing and bras..
Thanks girls! That's where I'll be heading today then! Is there one in Brighton?
I'm going for another check up today so I can ask about the bruising and get a random stitch snipped off so I may as well see if I can find my bras down there too!
I know everyone's different but when is an average timescale for the dropping and fluffing to happen? Xx

Yes go to Churchill Square shopping centre in Brighton for Boux Avenue - that's where I went and the lady who measured me was lovely. Bravissimo is near by on North Street (towards the bottom near The White Company). Not John Lewis sadly - I was away in Kingston upon Thames a couple of weeks ago and took the opportunity to go to john Lewis while I was there! I think dropping and fluffing varies massively between girls and type of implants - could take six months for me cos I have furries! Xx

Re: Help with sizing and bras..
Surgeons know nothing of bra sizes, they work in CC's, so ignore him! I'd say first get a rough idea for yourself at home. Measure straight around your band and don't add anything (e.g I measure 31, wear 32). Then your breasts at the fullest point. You can even bend forward for this. (me 36) Take the difference in measurements, not from the band (36-31=5) and work out the cup. 1A2B3C4D5DD. So i would be 32DD. Which is pretty much the average size I wear. This will give you at least an indication going in, so if someone tries to tell me 36B, I'm like, nope! Then yes, get yourself fitted, but be warned, some places wont like to fit new boobs this early. A dept store is likely your best bet to find a sports bra or soft cup. Remember, a new bra should fit on the loosest hook, so you can tighten it as it stretches.
The problem with these crops that are sized S/M/L etc is that they're never going to fit right. I love the Nike crops. But they only fit up to a D. So if I get the S for my 32, its painfully small on the breast. So I have to go up to 34, and not get as good support. Its fine, but I wouldn't do sport in them!
I think the bruising is normal, your incisions are still healing, so it could just be the bruising on the inside now coming to the surface. As long as it doesn't get worse, spread, or go black, its fine.

Re: Help with sizing and bras..
Ladies! Thanks so much for your help and sorry for my late reply!
Words can't describe how awful and deflated I felt after my meeting with the nurse and my disastrous fitting at box avenue! !!!
Saw a different nurse to usual and she just seemed really patronising and said I'm probably a C cup . I nearly stormed out. Don't get me wrong.. a C cup is great! Anything is better that what I was before.. but it's just the way she said it. Then she just kept pointing out how high and hard they were and asking if I was 'concerned'. I was like.. I don't know.. should I be????
I went to get measured to make myself feel better and came out
Feeling 100 times worse. Couldn't find anyhing to fit. Wish I'd just waited!
Went home and measured myself (thanks Charlii ) and I'm about a 32DD but I've decided not to look again for a while now until I'm softerand dropped slightly!
Had a really poop day but been prancing around in bikinis today and I couldn't be happier.. who cares about size!? It's only a number (letter!) Xx

Prancing around in bikinis is a sure fired way to cheer me up!! Glad you're feeling a little better. It's amazing how that little size can make you feel amazing or like sh!t. But you're right, it's just a number. If they look good and you're happy with them, so be it! And ignore the nurse, if they were soft and squishy at this point, I'd be worried for a rupture! They will soften in their own time, and possibly even 'get' a little bigger once they fluff (they won't physically get bigger, but they'll seem bigger as the goo settles in the lower pole.)

Re: Help with sizing and bras..
Made me feel much better! I just kept saying to my boyfriend look at meeee! Haha.
Thanks Charlii I hope I never have to see her again. My normal lovely nurse is on holiday. . I only went for the check up to get a stitch cut and to ask about one of my insicions that had weeped a little bit over night. She kept asking me if it was bothering me and then had the cheek to ask if my tan was natural or if I'd been on a sunbed! I was like. . I went on holiday in June! Like she was trying to blame me for my wound weeping! Then she gave me some wipes and said to go put bio oil on the scars. Which I won't be doing yet!
Yeah there's a slot of volume up High and on the sides still so I'm just leaving them for a while!!! X

Re: Help with sizing and bras..
Ah, she was fishing for a reason to remove your aftercare! 'You broke it, you bought it'! Commercial clinics can be sods like that. And yes, don't put anything on your scars, especially if they're weeping. Thats just begging for infection. Sometimes I really do wonder where these nurses get their qualifications from, the school of no common sense?

Ahh [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. I think from reading that post, I'm getting the sense that this nurse may of had a touch of the green eyed monster...as well as trying to whip your aftercare away!! Stupid c0wbag!
Your avi is beautiful already, and as you know, they will only get better and better. I thought I was a 34dd, until yest.
I got measured and she told me that I am infact a E as the wires on the D aren't wide enough for my bust so...you may even be bigger once you get there and get trying them on.
Even now at 10 weeks my right one is still a bit D shaped and loads of upper pole so its all just a waiting game.
But you look HOT in a bikini...so nurse, NERR NERR!!
