Super sensitive boob!
I'm nearly 3 weeks post op and have been healing really well! No pain or discomfort from my left boob at all but my right is still feels tender & slightly swollen on my side / ribs! It's also REALLY sensitive to touch, the best way I can describe it is like the sensation of a stinging nettle sting, same with my nipple! I have areas that are numb but the skin is still really sensitive! Any idea if this is ok and will it subside as the rib bruising etc isn't getting any better at all!?

Re: Super sensitive boob!
All normal! Bruising and swelling is all relative, it's normally around 3wks, but who's to say what's normal. It might just be taking you a little longer. Try and slow down a bit, eat plenty of white protein and leafy veg, and stay well hydrated.
Numbness and oversensitivity is normal too, your nerves are all over the shop right now, trying to knit back together. If it's too much, try a cotton wool pad, or breast pad to protect them from your bra. If it's stinging, hurting, paracetamol, and if it's burning, itching, antihistamines will help, along with a cold compress. This will take a little longer to pass, couple months maybe.

Thank you Charlii! I guessed it was probably normal and all part of the healing process but good to have reassurance! It may have to do the breast pad thing if it doesn't ease up soon, I dread getting cold as it wrecks my nipples

Yep I had this, any form of touch, even just a brush past someone made me whince in pain! I also got a really sunburnt kind of feeling in my clearvage area too after a while, not pleasent either, but will all dissappear.
6 weeks is the point where I saw a big corner turned in terms of those little niggles.
Happy healing

Twinky glad I'm not the only one! It's annoying because they were totally fine but as I've gone back to work I get this! Lol.

Re: Super sensitive boob!
Good Luck with your post op check tomorrow.
As others have said what you're experiencing is pretty normal as everything is settling/healing, your surgeon will be able to reassure you when you see him & hopefully the discomfort won't last much longer!

Hi, it's all normal. It will get better soon. It takes a lot of patience. But it's well worth it xxxx

Re: Super sensitive boob!
Hi BkozK, woo hop congratulations firstly as I see you now have new boobies!! How did it go & how are you feeling?
My 3 week post op went really well! My surgeon took one look & straight away said they look great and he said its a great result! He said I probably couldn't have gone any bigger which means I can forget about the boob greed now! Lol He said my right side is still slightly swollen which is the side that's still tender so I guessed it was healing slower! No more taping scars, just lots of moisturising!!
Also husband has been away for a week but came home yesterday and he said they feel completely different in the space of a week, they have definitely softened up loads!! :-)

Re: Super sensitive boob!
Ahh that's good to hear, must put your mind at ease when your surgeons pleased with your progress xx
I'm doing ok first day in, pain is at a 0% but I do feel like I've gone 10 round with Tyson. I've kept on top of my pain meds though. I haven't looked my new boobies yet (well apart from the photo surgeon took post op), I'm a little scared if the truth be told. Am going to brave it when getting ready for bed very shortly xx

Re: Super sensitive boob!
@BlozK glad to hear you're doing well! I read your surgery story early, sounds like everything went perfectly! I wasn't wrapped up or bandaged when I came back from surgery so saw mine straight away although wasn't allowed to get out of bed for a few hours so got quite a shock when I saw them in profile! I resembled a blow up sex doll hahaha thankfully they have now dropped and look much more natural! I love having full boobs again!
