When I take my bra off my nips are so sensitive I can't bare them being touched. They're ok when in the support bra but even when I'm in the shower I cringe if the water pressure is too high. And my other half touching them is a big no no! Anyone else had this does it last long?

I am 23 days post op now and still have very sensitive nipples and agree totally with the shower pressure thing. As for someone touching them, its a big no no and I even find myself flinching when the wee ones come over a bit too boisterously for a cuddle just in case they catch me!

Let's hope we get over this bit soon!

From what I have read this is normal but I would be interested to know statistically how many ladies are left with permanently sensitive nipples.

I am 4 and a half weeks post op, my nipples are sensitive but not unbearably so, I have always presumed that my boobs will never feel the way they did before - I was more worried about numbness tbh than over-sensitivity.

Oversensitivity of the nipples is very normal Misty and can get so sensitive sometimes its painful...

I would avoid the shower spray hitting my boobs and instead would let the shower hit my back and have the water run over my front as well as using a flannel to soak and squeeze the water over my boobs too, so the water ran over them babe instead of hit them.

I couldn't even bare the material of the bra against them, I had to use cotton make-up pads over them as a nice soft cushion or else I'd be sat squirming in my chair!

How long it lasts it really dependent on your own healing babe, but although its not nice...take it as a good sign love,y that sensation IS returning back to your nipples. Xx

I have one nipple like this and the other is still totally numb!  :(
So as Cookie has said, it's a good sign that the sensation is coming back! X

One of my nipples feels like its going to
Be ok but the other makes me feel sick with just the bra rubbing over it and I've still got dressings over them too! Reminds me of when i was breast feeding my youngest through the teething stage...constant!! i just wanted to scratch my own eyes out with the over-sensitive feeling!
