macom bra so uncomfortable
Good morning!!
It's 03:45 and i can't sleep. There is not so much boob pain, except when i sit up, i think that's the dreaded morning boob?I think its this macom bra that is fecking uncomfortable, the band seems to be really digging in at the front, yet i can still fit two fingers under it. In fact I've been sitting here with my finger under the bra to remove a bit of the pressure. Ajd as it's bra related the pain killers aren't touching it.
I did buy a few different post op bras and bra extenders, but i don't want to change my bra until I've spoken to mr H, as he wanted the bra to fit quite snuggly.
And plus day 3-5 is the worst for swelling, I've not even done 1 day! At this rate my swelliness will eat the band up.
5 houra until i can call and hopefully get a bit more comfortable. Not worth ringing the emergency number he gave out just for this. So I'm going to sit upright and eat skittles and feel sorry for myself.
has anyone else had macom related issues? The cups are supportive and comfy, the band is not.

Re: macom bra so uncomfortable
Hi.
Yes my Macon band is tight and I often have to un do the bottom clip. It is to do with the swelling as well.
I am on day 12 and have woke up with it feeling really tight on band but I still have Buddha belly and thin I did too much yesterday which may have caused swelling again.
Speak to your clinic if it really uncomfortable but think it will wear off when swelling starts to go down. Hope your feeling ok otherwise and remember one day at a time . Listen to your body and rest xx

Ooh yes doing that bottom clip might help, i will try that! I think im so focused on keeping them supported, I'm worried I'll "damage" them.
But with the bottom one undone then the band will still give me support.

Re: macom bra so uncomfortable
I have tried my macom on pre op and it feels a little loose as i got it in a size bigger as i know i will be swollen post op. Maybe try giving your surgeon a call or email just to say you are tempted to try a different bra as your one is too tight. Orrrr, how long have you had your macom? could always return it and ask for a bigger size xx

Re: macom bra so uncomfortable
i got it 3 months ago for my uplift and never needed it there, so no chance will i be able to return it. I think as i can get 2 fingers under it, it should be ok once the swelling goes down.
Undoing the bottom clip has helped a wee bit, thanks for that!
I will see how it goes with the bottom clip, and then give my ps a ring.

Some girls just don't get on with it. One bottom clip won't do any damage, so if that feels more comfortable for now, do it. You're swelling will still be growing, which'll make the skin sensitive and tender. Maybe try putting some socks or a scarf in between so it's not so uncomfy?

I think with me when I was new PO, nothing would have been comfy. Some girls love the macom some don't. Anything I had worn wS sooooo uncomfy. Xxx

Re: macom bra so uncomfortable
I didn't get on with them Macom ,it wasn't that it was tight just I found the material didn't agree with my skin made me feel itchy. I found the M&S zip front bra the comfiest for me,but not for everyone. As Charli has said maybe try & cushion the area with something, even panty liners may help.

How are you getting on [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]? Are you any more comfortable? I really liked the macom for the first week and a half but so happy to be in the Royce now. It's a much softer material.
Hope you've found something to help xx

Re: macom bra so uncomfortable
Good morning all
I spoke to my ps secretary yesterday and said i was really struggling with the macom, due to the tightness of the band. it was agreed that i could change bra as long as the new one was a snug Fit.
I tried on a high impact sports bra, a triumph one i think it is. still snug and tight but not as tight. It has 3 hook and eyes and a zip so my boobs feel nice and secure.
Have got the horrendous morning boob every time i get up, takes my breath away.
Think i have got a case of the booby blues today. Feel like crying all the time. Plus I've managed to completely bugger up my laptop somehow and no idea how to fix it.
Thanks for all your help ladies.

Re: macom bra so uncomfortable
Hope you're ok drinkoftea. It get's so much better, please believe me :) My day 2-7 were all pretty bad. Morning and evening boob, tightness, swelling, tingles, back ache, bum ache from sleeping on my back. The list goes on! On top of that I had a weird rash from the antibiotics, nausea and awful constipation!
I know at this stage it all seems a bit much. Your boobs look and feel alien and the tiredness can you make you feel pretty damn blue. But just stay with it, honestly in a few weeks you will be amazed at how different you feel.
I'm 6 weeks PO now and feeling absolutely incredible. I have to remind myself how bad it was at the beginning sometimes, cos right now I just love them and cant stop staring at them!
Chin up and focus on that recovery. Eat lots of greens, lots of water, take lots of little walks and surround yourself with things that make you smile :)
All the best xxx

Re: macom bra so uncomfortable
Aww thank you so much blush,
Yes it's not really morning boob but every time i get up boob! Just had a quick shower so at least i don't smell like a pole cat any more.
I really thought i would be more prepared then i feel like i am. My uplift was a dream xompared ro this!
Time for an apple and some water i think. And I'm going to get dressed, i think that will make me feel a whole lot better.
Counting down the days to day 7a7!

Re: macom bra so uncomfortable
Its funny as I have totally lost my appetite which for me NEVER happens. I love my food and although I was a bit hungry today for the first day I just didnt really fancy anything. Been forcing in my healthy dinners and some fruit as I know I will need some help with my recovery but when I did my hip - if it moved..I ate it!
Back on the subject of bras - my right incision has been giving me hell today so I'm back in the Macom as it doenst have the narrower strap like my sports bra.
Had my first feeling of fizzy vibrato boob today too. So weird!

Yez that's exacatly how i feel now! So Hungry. I really fancy a hazelnut protein shake......i don't think the rest of the house will be happy with the blender whizzing away at this hour though!
How is your incision today?
I've not had fizzy vibrating boobs yet....I'll look forward to that!!!

Re: macom bra so uncomfortable
Morning!
Feeling a bit better today but then I am up to date with painkillers, slept a little better - I can almost sleep on my side now a bit twisted so I'm not crushing my boob but that helped.
Fizzy boob feeling is weird - I guess its a nerve thing, like when you get a twitchy eye!
Incision feels a little better thanks, I have my check up today at hospital which I'm a little nervous about. Hopefully all is healing well.
