Surgeon against Macom post surgery bra??
I've just seen someone say that their surgery is VERY against and argumentative about Macom PO bras? Do you feel this is a person opinion?
They say they move implants up out of their pocket for being too tight, apparently it's been discussed at conferences and re work has been done for misplaced implants?
Apparently Marks and Sparks is the way to go?!
What are your thoughts.. Personal preference? lack of surgeons checking the post bra size your wearing?
I think it proves the fact that surgeons should put a bra on you to the size they would advise.
Surely they realise the amount of people wearing the wrong bra generally.. That a PO bra they're going to make the same mistakes?
In one of my consultations I asked about the PO bra and he said 'oh any supportive non wired bra would do'! X

Re: Surgeon against Macom post surgery bra??
Were there any links to back up these allegations Sarah?
It's very possible I may have missed any papers written by surgeons about the Macom, but I do check the net for Breast Augmentation news everyday and will always print them here in the cosmetic news section and I can't say ive seen anything like this from my findings
From personal experience and ive had surgery with 4 different surgeons to date, 5 with Mr McG and ALL of them have requested I get a sportsbra for after surgery, Mr McG doesn't want me in a high impact bra, he just wants me in a crop top he said. But NONE have actually stated which I shouod or shouldn't get.
So unless the person has backed up the claim I'd say it's rubbish hun. Xx

Re: Surgeon against Macom post surgery bra??
I think if my surgeon specifically said not a macom, I'd go with it, but they're championed by far more specifically as a post op bras. There's got to be a ton of science gone into them. Plus there's no accounting for the patients behavior behind closed doors, if they just stick with the same size even post swelling it's bound to not fit.
I don't think we can blame surgeons, it's not their job to work in bra sizes. All we can do is educate ourselves really. But I would say if these people insist on pcc's, they should be trained in bra sizes and fittings!

I meant to say in the original post actually... 'Not backed up by a reliable source!!'
Anyone can feed you bulls**t.. Being proven is another matter.
And as Charlii says if they're backed up by science you can't argue with that.
Thank you Cookie and Charlii.. :)
I'll keep an eye on that section too! Xx

No, it's fine lovely. It's good for women to read because if they were to come across the same thread you did somewhere at least they'll have seen here that it's a load of rubbish. Xx
Re: Surgeon against Macom post surgery bra??

Re: Surgeon against Macom post surgery bra??
I brought a bra very similar to the macom post op, but from amazon. I don't think that I could have coped with a sports bra that did up at the back. Saw this post and thought "Eekk!!" but phew, all ok!

Re: Surgeon against Macom post surgery bra??
You'll find you will either get on with it or not....I didn't at all. It lost it's shape VERY quickly (as in a few days!), and was possibly t he worst £40 I've spent :/ BUT, so many people swear by them! Like I say, you'll either like it or not...it's very much trial and error post op! I've given up trying to find one I like, given I've now just got another 2 weeks until big girl bras, so perhaps don't buy too many in advance!
Like Charlii said though, if you're surgeon has advised against it, then follow his advice. You wouldn't want it coming back to bite you in the event something did go wrong x

Re: Surgeon against Macom post surgery bra??
Following surgeons advise ALWAYS goes without saying.
I can't really see that a surgeon would advise against a particular bra though. They could risk actually being sued by the Macom company and there's no way they'd put themselves in that position.
I didn't get get along with the Macon either boobies2be. Just wasn't the right bra 'for me' many other women do rate it highly though, so what bra you buy, as long as it's a good quality bra that's made to see you though your surgery then whatever feels best 'for you' just go with that

Re: Surgeon against Macom post surgery bra??
I liked the support the macom gave me but when my skin became sensitive I found the material a bit irritating, but I'm not sure if that would have been the case with any bra. I'm so glad that has gone now. I think that was the worst part for me. Xx

I wore mine for quiet a while PO . They are compression garments. Maybe that's why your scars are good xx

Yes, I think the compression is the reason my scars are so flat.anneritchley wrote:I wore mine for quiet a while PO . They are compression garments. Maybe that's why your scars are good xx
So I'm glad I used the Macom after my surgery

I also used Macom body suit after my liposuction and I love their products.
But maybe they aren't for everyone. We are all different
