Revision for slight double bubble tubular breast
I had my augmented mastopexy in October and even though my boobs are so much better I've thought from the off that my righty didn't look right. It was very tubular before whilst the other wasn't too bad so I'm not surprised it's the problematic one. It looks like my old boob is sort of sitting on the implant, not drooping off it, but there is a line and a definite separation. It's also about 2 cm higher than my lefty
Cannot fault my surgeon and Spire, I didn't have to even point it out or argue. At my 3 month check he said I need a revision, he will lift that boob a bit more , dissect the crease more and fan out my own tissue over the implant.
Reason for message is lots of reasons really..... Firstly do you think this solution will work? I apparently couldn't have any bigger an implant because of narrow and constricted base and I have very inelastic skin.
Secondly will my recovery be as bad? The implants aren't being touched but I've just got my fitness back/ lost weight etc and bummed at the resting bit all again
3rdly to reassure others that after care policies can work and are sooo important. I'm not paying a penny and they have been brilliant.
I am too new to share pics but going to do some serious posting so I can as would love some opinions. Thanks in advance

Re: Revision for slight double bubble tubular breast
Spire are a very reputable company. I'm not at all surprised to read the care you've been given at a time which when you have a complication can be quite traumatic.
To answer your first question. I don't know. Tubular breasts are a lot more complicated than a regular breast, but you couldn't be in better hands and I'm sure your surgeon knows what he's doing and will do all he can to gain that nice result for you.
Secondly, depending on how invasive the surgery actually is you should be fine. It really shouldn't cause any discomfort like the primary surgery due to all the hard work already having being done. But as I said, I don't know how invasive the surgery is that's planned for you. Reading it, it doesn't sound too bad at all, but this will be a first here so your recovery will be followed if you don't mind posting about it for others who in the future may also need the same.
In terms of healing, it shouldn't be as long as the initial op from what I'm reading, but again, I really haven't any exoerience myself or from reading how the recovery will go. I'd just very much suggest you take it a day at a time and just do whatever is asked of you. Afterall, the surgeon can only do so much to help you achieve a nice result. The rest which is the recovery period is up to us to follow instruction and help the healing come along as best it can.
I'm really truely sorry you're having to deal with this complication sweetie, but I'm glad you know the revision planning will go smoothly and I hope you'll be looking forward to the final result. Xx

Re: Revision for slight double bubble tubular breast
Thank you so much for the reply, I'm sorry, I look very arrogant not putting any background but I did have a status and ticker that I now can't see..... I will update to give context.
I had 280cc moderate profile anatomical overs and a lollipop lift and aureola reduction. With James Murphy at spire manchester
I'm not too scared, I'm just thrilled I didn't have to argue as armed with all the fabulous knowledge on here I was pretty sure there was an issue.
But...... Ga again, dressings, no showers etc etc.... It's a bit of a shock isn't it. I waited so many years for this and feel a bit wobbly now it has sunk in that I'm going under again.
I am seeing him again 2 weeks before re op so will ask all the questions then I guess.
Thanks again cookie

Re: Revision for slight double bubble tubular breast
And yes I will share and will share photos when I can. Apparently this is more common with tubular because of the constriction. I'm glad now I agreed to a lift rather than, as some surgeons suggested, going really big to stretch out the tubular shape. I only had a very short distance between nipple and fold and a narrow breast base, I think I would have been left with terrible double bubble as my crease had to be significantly lowered too

Re: Revision for slight double bubble tubular breast
I don't doubt that at all Emma.
Yes, it can be a terrible shock when you realise you have a complication. We read about them, we know they're the risks we take, but you never think it'll happen to you do you and when it does....well, it can be quite upsetting.
I wouldn't worry too much about pictures. Description of what's required and why and updates through recovery are so helpful. Of course if you'd like to show pics too that's entirely up to you. But please don't put pressure on yourself to get that done. You just look after yourself. Give yourself time for everything to sink in and get yourself prepared for the big day.
Do you have a date for the revision yet Emma? Xx
