How long are boobs sore for post op?
I'm 11 days post op and although I haven't needed any painkillers for the past couple of days my boobs are still very sore to touch. Its not too bad touching the top part but under and to the side is really sore to touch, especially on my right boob. I'm just wondering if this is normal since I'm not getting any pain otherwise or maybe I'm wearing the tension strap thing too tight and I'm bruising the breast?

The pain can come and go, and differentiate between aching, over sensitivity, soreness, electric shocks, all kinds. All is normal. It can last up to a year as the healing continues, but it gets better. Don't be scared to pop some paracetamol if it's too much, there's no shame. Ice packs across the tops of your boobs can also give some relief. Just keep them away from your incisions.

Glad you havnt needed painkillers for few days, the soreness is normal, it can feel sunburnt. That's the stretched skin and the nerve damage, the little electric shocks you may feel are the nerves healing and reconnecting.
X
This may last for a good few weeks sunburnt feeling and the electric shocks months, though they get less frequent x

Ah thank you. Sunburn is exactly it, so sensitive to even the most gentle touch. I'm glad I haven't been doing damage by wearing this awful bra contraption too tight! xx

Is it normal for them to feel bruised too?

Yes . They are not gentle when you are out during the op. Felling bruised is all normal . And also numb on the boobs for a long while is normal for some too xx

My pain went around the 3/4 week mark, but one side was always worse, with a bit of sternum pain appearing every now and then (but none this past week). I still have the sunburnt feeling though at 5.5 wks x

There's no redness at all on your incisions is there hun? Xx
Re: How long are boobs sore for post op?
Cookie I don't know if there's any redness on the incisions as I've still got a strip over each nipple until stitches dissolve. I can take the strips off on Friday, 2 weeks after the surgery. Apparently I don't need to put anything else on once I've removed the strips.....is this normal? x

If you have been advised from your surgeon not to put anything else on once you have removed the strips then don't . Xxx

You should only ever follow the advise of your own surgeon sweetheart. Your post-op advise is tailored to your body, just as other women's are to theirs, hence you'll often read very differing post-op advise for other women. So do just ignore their advise and focus on your own espresso.
Have you had an uplift hun?
Also can anyone look under your breast to see if there's any redness for you? You should be able to see even with the steri-strips on. Xx
Re: How long are boobs sore for post op?
Cookie I had a crescent uplift which I believe is like a half uplift because they didn't need brought up too far. I'll get hubby to look under breasts for redness. My incisions are on the nipple. The only changes I've noticed is that following the op my nipple couldn't be seen under the steri strip but now you can see the nipple below the steri strip.

Ahhhhh I see. There's no need for your hubby to check in the crease then babe. The incisions are only over the tops of the areolas when you have a crescent lift
The pain you're likely exoeriencing to the breast that's really sore around the bottom and sode is likely to be just do to that one breast having a little more trauma to it than the other during surgery, but as always, if at all you are overly concerned about anything. Do see your surgeon if only to get the concern noted and get some reassurance. Xx
