3hrs post op
Hi as it says came bk to my room about half 8 and honestly feel like I've been hit by a bus! Had augmentation and mastoplexy! Morphine did nothing for the pain but just had some tramidol? I think that's what it's called! Seems to have eased it just my chest is so so tight ! Knew it wouldn't be easy but wasn't expecting this much pain

Awwww you'll be fine hun.
I doubt anyone's quite ready for the elephant sat on your chest right after surgery but that does settle down and the pain killers will help you through so there no pain, just discomfort Charlie.
Congrats on your new boobs hun and happy healing!

Re: 3hrs post op
Ask the staff for something stronger if you feel uncomfortable. I was struggling a lot with the pain my first night and codeine helped me. (I also had a full uplift)
I know your night is going to be uncomfortable anyway, but the strong painkillers can make is so much bearable.

Am I right in thinking you were 2 days ago emmapinder?
Really struggling with chest pain today, morphine doesn't seem to do anything! Is it normal for it to be hurting when I breathe can anyone answer? X

I'm in hospital, didn't come round last night till about half 8 ! I'm a bit hormonal- I've just cried cause the nurse made me go to the toilet on my own and then put the pressure thingys on my legs on my own! Is it normal to be a crying mess! Feeling like a blubbery baby xx hubby will be here soon and I can't wait xx

Re: 3hrs post op
It is normal to be feeling emotional, you've been through a big op/ GA ,add to that your discomfort & lack of sleep, so if you feel like crying just let it all out!
Keep on top of pain meds for the next few days-week , let hubby pamper you & get plenty of rest, when you feel up to it short gentle walks getting some fresh air will help.
The 1st week post op is usually the worst, after that you'll be surprised at how much better you feel each passing day, I promise!
Sending you a BIG HUG! XXX

Re: 3hrs post op
Tramadol is the good stuff! I had that, really helps you sleep! The hormonal stuff is all perfectly normal, don't worry about it. It'll last a few more days as the ga works it's way out of your system, but you'll start to feel more human around day 4/5. Take it easy, and try and get as much sleep as you can.

Hi Hun I'm 2 days post op and also had full uplift with implants im taking codeine and not really in any pain it's just discomfort at the moment and only really feel it wen I move after being laid still! I'm hoping it dosnt get any worse but even if it does I'm sure I'll be fine I'm only taking the one codeine instead of 2. Not been emotional yet either :0/ xx

Re: 3hrs post op
Sorted out my pain meds ( they gave me 100mg of tramidol instead of 50) so made me really lightheaded and my blood pressure plummeted! Now on will just be 50g! Feeling great at the mo just like you say a bit of discomfort when moving about! Am dozing on and off a fair bit too but havnt got much of an appetite! Am making the most of the peace in hospital and the rest! Hubby's just left to sort kiddies out and think my consultant said I would be going home tomorrow lunch! Ended up with 330cc anatomical unders! Everytime I look down I smile so so happy with my decision to do this can't believe I was doubting myself xxxx

Re: 3hrs post op
I was exactly the same, kept crying. Ok now, as soon as pain meds are sorted you'll feel 100 times better. Tomorrow going to have 1 codiene instead of 2 at a time x x

Re: 3hrs post op
Are u home now? I've had to stay 2 nights but I prepared myself for it and after the mess up with the tramidol I'm glad I'm not at home yet as I'd be panicking! Also think I'm going to try and get a blood pressure monitor as since my pre assessment and a couple of other times I found out I have low blood pressure so think it will be worth keeping an eye on it!
What has your surgeon said about showering and sports bras? I'm making a list of questions I need to ask before I go home as there is bound to be something I forget xx

Yes I'm at home, I was a day case, I can't have a shower till I see the nurse next week, but I can have a shallow bath to wash lower body. I Got a bra included in price, but I've brought 2 more different once for the nurse to put on next week. Also ask about stockings if you have them x x

Re: 3hrs post op
Yes have the lovely lovely stockings! Apparently I will get two bras one to wear and one for when in wash but should find out more tomorrow! Just felt strange coming into hospital and not bringing a bra but was so difficult anyway as I had no clue what sort of size i would of had to buy! Can't wait till I can go to the shops and get properly measured

Re: 3hrs post op
Only issue I'm having is pain where the drains are! Anyone else had this? And will it become easier once drains are removed? Which will hopefully be anytime soon xxx

Re: 3hrs post op
You'll be fine Charlie. If you haven't had them taken out already, I'll give you a little tip. When they come to remove them A&E deep breaths in and out and focus on your breathing. - I never felt a single thing when the drains were removed and the drin site heals over very quickly once removed too. Xx
