What's the 2nd week like after ba?
Hiya! My partner goes back to work after 2nd week into my ba, and he works away so not coming back for 2 weeks. I'm worried will I be alright on my own? I also have 2 boys to look after. They are 11 and 6 years old, school run is a 15 minute walk, I know I can rest inbetween school run but I'm just worried. Many thanks Emma xx

I think you will be fine Emma. I had surgery on Tuesday and already feel much better than for example yesterday. My husband wanted to stay at home with me but it wasn't neccesary as with little help I managed on my own. We have no children but I think you will b fine after two weeks and it's not like they are babies if you see what I mean x

Hey Emma, you should be ok really. My son is 6 and was really good at helping to reach for things and being helpful. I wasn't ready to drive until wk 3 but were all different. Just don't over do it. Week one is the week you really need help ( well I did) xx

You'll start to feel more human, but there will still be restrictions on your activity. Walking to school will be fine, and like the others have said, your littluns are old enough to help out. Just be careful with lifting, you don't want a big heavy pan of boiling water or anything like that.

Hi Emma
Although I was doing a lot the one thing I actually found tiresome was walking. I drove to the school but actually walking from the CAR to the school made me feel weak. If u cld get help with the school run for another week, your energy levels will be better. I'm 13 days post op and wouldn't like to walk 15 mins there an back. I fine with housework, dinners Etc cause I can sit down when I need to.

Re: What's the 2nd week like after ba?
Id personally ask one of the mums if they could possibly do you a favour the second week and help out if you need them by picking up and collecting your boys to/from school.
I say this because there NEVERTHELESS any guarantees you'll be OK to go out walking. Some women turn a corner after week one and feel much more human and get back to doing the things they did previous (within the boundaries of the post-op instruction). But some women take a little more time and don't turn the corner until after week two.
So it's best to cover self isn't it. If you'd rather not mention your Breast Augmentation you don't have to. Your surgery will pass off as a bad back. You won't be lying in saying this - you back will be sore, so you're saying a lil white lie and that never hurt no-one.
I'm sure someone will be able to help. If you don't know any of the school mums then ask the teacher if she could arrange it for you with one of the parents.
The age they are is good because they're pretty much good to take care of themselves and what you can't do with your six year old, asking the elder to help out for a little reward should work a treat. But it's always best to cover yourself hun. None of us, not even your surgeon can give you a full guarantee alls gonna be fine after week one for YOU. Xx

Thanks for all the advice, a lady over the road from me walks her boys to the same school. She said she'd take my youngest in for me, my oldest said he'll help. X x

Hi Emma
Just wondered how your managing. I'm four weeks post op now and I'm back to normal. Back to work last Monday and all the normal chores. My arms are still a bit sore and I'm not allowed to lift them above my head which I couldn't actually do anyway even if I wanted too! Boobs are tender and sore but other than that I'm great. I hope your managing OK without your hubby around.

Re: What's the 2nd week like after ba?
As said ^ Your boys are old enough you will be fine hun. Mine are 3 and 8 and it was ok. I explained to them especially my little one, mum is sore....any help is great and they were good as gold.
Walking....just take it easy, go steady, don't go power walking ...lol.
After a week I done short walks....at 10-14 days I was quite happy walking to /from town etc.
No need to worry. It is easy though to forget.....so to speak after about day 10, you slowly get better and feel well so start to do more....remember you're recovering form Op, don't rush back to anything that can't wait
xx
