Quick PO question for you lovely laidies
Hi, when you first have your implants they are really firm to the touch. What is it that makes them soften? Is it the swelling that makes them firm ? I can feel the edges of the implant now at the top of my boob. But my macom seems to be getting tighter at the top of the bra. I'm 10 days PO . Xxxxxx

They're firm because they're box fresh! Think of it kind of like a new pair of shoes - you've got to break them in! The more you wear them, the softer and more comfortable they'll get as they adjust to your body.

Re: Quick PO question for you lovely laidies
Your skin is very, very, tight right now and it's holding the implant back and causing that firmness. If you had partials/subfacial stop then the muscle as well will be holding the implant back.
For everything to relax it takes 'time' how long it'll be before 'your' boobs will fully soften up. I don't know. We're each different and will all heal at different rates. Some women have soften here as soon as two weeks! Others, like myself, it's taken as long as six months.
Your poor skin is so taut right now and although your boobs may be looking fab on the outside, they're still very much healing on the inside and adjusting to this foreign body that's just been placed. At 10 days post-op it's also VERY likely that you still have quite a bit of swelling too.
When your skin, muscles (if you had partials/subfacials) start to relax and the swelling subsides, they'll then soften to an almost natural feel. To a light squidge anyone that doesn't know you had implants would be hard pushed to know whether they're natural or augmented. But to a firm squidge, you do feel the implant pushing back against you.
It's an absolute myth that implants are firm to the touch, they're not. My own GP with my first implants sent me for further tests when I had a lump in my Breast, she thoroughly examined my breasts and had me gobsmacked when I had to inform her about my rupture. She had no idea I had Breast implants, that's how real they can feel - if you can fool a doctor I'd say that's pretty damn good.
My skin is pretty tight so it takes a while for my boobs to soften up, so your skins elasticity will also be a factor. Once all that's relaxed, you'll get your nice soft boobs then. X

Hi Anne
Sorry for butting into your conversation but I'm 9 days post op and I wonder how are your energy levels. I hoped to go back to work this morning but just don't have the energy so I'll leave it to Monday to go back. I went to do the grocery shop yesterday and thought I'd collapse before I got home I was so exhausted. How do u feel?

I'm at six weeks with nagors and they are definitely softer than at the beginning but still pretty firm tbh. I have my six week check tomorrow so will ask then when they will be a lot softer! They look soft but don't feel it atm if you know what I mean!! x

As with anything to do with having a BA patience is the key & lots of it!
Mine were a good 4 months before they really started to soften up now you have to give them a firm squeeze before you know that there are implants in there. XXX
