Dressing change
Hi girls, tomorrow is one week post op and I have my first dressing change with the nurse at 11. I currently have tape going right round both boobs and of course the obvious dressings over the incisions! I'm really hoping they will take the tape of my boobs tomorrow and just leave my incisions covered. How soon did your tape come off? And why have I got tape going round the entire boobs. ? I never want to see tit tape ever again. Xx

Re: Dressing change
It's so weird how everyone's dressings are different isn't it. I don't have any tape just very small waterproof dressings over my incisions which I can shower with. Hope you do get them taken off, might make you feel slightly better and a bit more normal! Good luck! Xx

Re: Dressing change
Hi Anne,
My first dressing was changed during my stay at hospital since there'd been a tiny bit of weeping. The nurse told me usually they didn't change them but she did anyway so that was nice!
I'll go to the clinic on Monday to have this second one removed and get a fresh one, then I'll return 7th to have that one removed - so many dressings!!
Good luck tomorrow but you'll be fine, all will be well :D x

Re: Dressing change
You are so lucky not to have tape!! It's the most uncomfortable thing ever . I will let you know how I get on. Xxxx

Re: Dressing change
Hehe, I just have two 'stickers'. I'm not sure of the correct term (it's probably that obvious yet I've forgotten it!).
I did get a fairly large elastic band/strap with a Velcro fastener but I'm not wearing that as it was quite tight and I feel more comfortable without it. I've also still got my stockings on so those probably need to come off too!
Yes, do let us know how you get on :D x

Re: Dressing change
Isn't the band supposed to help the implants stay in place and drop ? Xx

Re: Dressing change
Kimberly, if you've been given the band to wear, you should have it on. That's your surgeons aftercare advise, and if something goes wrong, he can say well you didn't follow my instruction. I know they're horrible and uncomfortable, I had mine on for 6wks. But you really should have it on. A more comfortable way to put it on is to go straight across your back where the bra band would go, then come up and over. It should be tight, but not restrictive.
As for dressings, all women get different ones. I just had them over my incisions, some women are fully mummified! If they're all around your boobs its likely either for support or to keep them in place (you've got some pretty big whammers there!). Hopefully they'll remove it all and just put a dressing over the incision, it'll help make you a lot more comfortable. Fingers crossed!

Re: Dressing change
Hi hopefully I can post this time!
Yeah it's quite uncomfortable but I've had discomfort from period cramp, wind and constipation so the band probably isn't that bad I'm just being a baby :)
At the hospital I was told first they'd remove it, then told to wear it. Even over the phone I was told two things but it's on now :)
Thanks :) and keep us up to date Anne :) x
