Pain and swelling in unders? Empty Pain and swelling in unders?

Hi to all on the forum. So I had my surgery on Tuesday this week (390cc HP Nagor Unders) and I have to admit I have found recovery so far pretty tough. Lot of pain especially on left side and have struggled to sleep. The results so far though are outstanding for so early on! My questions really are to those who are further down the line after unders. Firstly when does the pain start to improve and how do you know whether you're still swollen or not? Thanks everyone xxx

Hi. wavey   ,
The pain usually starts to subside  after the 1st week so hang on in there & keep on top of your pain relief in the meantime!
Round about day 3-4 is often the worst as that's when swelling kicks in. Your band size is a good indicator of swelling, as it stays the same pre & post op ,where there is an increase in your band size this will be swelling. Swelling takes roughly around 2 - 3 weeks to go down.
Keep your self as comfortable as possible with pain relief and naps during they day if you are finding it difficult to sleep at night, short walks & fresh air will make you feel better too.
Stay positive & focus on next week where you should be feeling so much better, I promise.   Hug    XXX

I'm not in any pain really now, I did try and drive yesterday and struggled to get fifth gear, so taking that easy. But otherwise feel ok. Getting frustrated now there's so much stuff I can't do!!!

I was on the codeine for 3days only, then paracetamol, but it was after around a week or so that I started to reduce that to first a last thing really. Around day 3 or so is when you will feel your lowest. The GA is now fully out of your system, so you feel the aches a lil more, and it can feel a little overwhelming, as it plays havoc on your hormones. This is all normal, and around day5-7, most people have a turnaround day. Keep up with the painkillers, and make sure you're never flat on your back, always with your shoulders raised above your heart. This will help to bring the swelling down. That'll be 2-3weeks tops. Hope you feel better hun

Thanks ladies. Think I've had a bit of a turnaround day today (day 6) as pain has been a bit better although now started with zingers and very sore nipples. Incisions are bit itchy too. Wondering when boobies will start to soften as they're still pretty hard atm xxx

Won't be for a while yet I'm afraid! Not least until the swelling goes down. You won't notice it day to day, but come three months you'll feel the difference. And then again at 6 you'll be hello squishy boobs!

They won't shrink, it's physically impossible! Just the swelling will go down. You've had 390 put in, you'll be 390cc's bigger. It's just the distribution of the goo that changes, not the actual volume, which can give it the impression of gaining a cup when they fluff as they fill the cup better

Thanks ladies you have reassured me. I am still having bad episodes of pain mostly on the left. Feels like severe muscle pain and seems to be being caused by the breast band. I loosen and tighten it throughput the day to try and give myself a break. Also my lefty is definitely struggling more to drop. If I could work out how to send pictures in a pm I would so you could see. They truly are beautiful tho hard still. They have been since day one
