Day 3 post op Empty Day 3 post op

Post by kezjb 20th October 2014, 7:47 am

Morning girls, thought I would check in.
I'm day 3 post op and I feel so well. Im keeping on top of my meds and moving around slowly. But when I'm being careful I feel fine, am conscious about over doing it as feel so good.
I went for a walk yesterday, only 20mins and that was an effort, but I felt much better for the fresh air. I've also been able to shower as I have waterproof dressings, I just dried them with a hair dryer before my bra went back on.
After initial shock of being given different implants (see my good luck post) I asked for the serial no of my implants and was very shocked to see they are 'mentors' and not natrelles!  All is well.
MY DVT stockings are giving me awful blisters where the elastic sits around my toes, so I had to take those off, my surgeon said he'd like me to wear them for a week!!
I measure 30/31 under bust and 37 around bust ATM, I know it's not final but what does that make me? Going to buy another bra today  as one I ordered off eBay hasn't turned up yet!!

Well done on your recovery babe.. I'm back to normal, driving etc but this is my 3rd BA recovery lol. I'm so happy with my result and happy I went ahead with it.. I'm not too up on measurements so I can't help you there. You probably won't know your size for a good few months babe so don't rush out and buy expensive bras. Wait until they settle and take your self out for a gorgeous day of Bra fittings and cocktails.. xx

Blimey you're doing really well :) don't even wanna try driving as don't wanna overdo it. I guess your skin and muscles stretching is the biggie - that's what it feels like anyway, so imagine that's why you feel so well.

Not going mad only ordered another bra off eBay and it hasn't arrived, so gunna buy another so I can wash this one :)

Great news! Kez I would think you're a 32f in a lingerie brand or a 34e in m&s! You may need a bra extender if its uncomfortable round the band due to swelling in the beginning! A great size! How does the 34dd currently fit? When measuring make sure the tape is pulled snug around the band! You may actually be a 30 or smaller!

The 34 band is snug ATM but ok, I think any bigger and it wouldn't support me. I struggled to fasten it over my boobies!!

Yes just bought a 34DD and cups are too small.
Ordered a 32E, so hope that's better - ordered it before surgery still hadn't blooming arrived.

Just remember tho that 34dd is equivalent in cup size to 32e (down a band size = up a cup size)!. So if the 34dd felt supportive and snug around the band but cups a little tight try a 34e, but if the 34dd band felt like you could wear it tighter (and ideally on the loosest clasp) but cups a bit tight get a 32f! Hope I haven't confused you!!

You can always buy yourself some bra extenders quite cheap, just while you have some swelling.
I would get those stockings back on too, better to follow your post op advice, if they feel too tight around your toes you could try sniping a little nick in them with scissors, as for every where else they need to be tight to do their job. XXX

No that makes sense Mammamia, the 34DD felt too lose round the band and too small in the cups - Crikey can't imagine Sainsbury's do a 32f lol I certainly don't feel that big!

Thanks Mirren, I've been wearing knee high riding socks as those are quite tight, but have full toes so much more comfy.
I can't cope with the pain from the dvt stockings - it woke me up during the night with a massive blister! :(

Glad to hear you're doing well! I hated those socks, took them off whenever hubs wasn't around, but he ordered me to put them back on. Just make sure you're active and wandering around. And slip a cotton wool ball or panty liner around them if they're causing you blisters!

I'd say 32E, but the swelling is going to make it feel tight, even if it is the 'right' band size to wear at the moment. You might find the cups look baggy in the nipple when you put them on at the moment, this is because of the roundness of the implant (I know you had anatomicals, but they're still going to be boxfresh!) As long as they're firmly secure and you're comfortable.

Had my dressings off today, nurse was really pleased with my incisions and I've been able to have the dressings off completely :)
I can start taking my bra off at night now too.
Feeling very pleased :)
