Pre op consultation
Hi everyone, after messaging the coordinator about how long till I could fly and with a few other questions she suggested I have a pre op with my surgeon. So glad she said that as really want to talk about sizing again. I love my 300g rice boobies they are perfect, I want to say that I would rather be slightly bigger than that than slightly smaller, but am telling myself to trust his judgment, if he says 300c is the job for want I want I need to believe him! It's so hard as it's such a crucial decision and I want to know exactly what I'm getting - which I accept is impossible!
Such a pain arranging a time with him, and a pain booking the time off work. I'm typically in the office 9-7ish and I can't take half days. So was hard as neither of us were flexible and am concerned I will have the same issue for my post op appts. I rang the hospital to ask for my bloods to be done on the same day as my appt with my surgeon and they wouldn't as they said it had to be 7-10 days before, I only have one day holiday left this year and am worried about post op apts :( such a shame it's clouding my excitement :( I haven't told anyone at work and reluctant to lie about it being an hospital appt.
Anyhow, have my v shaped pillow, and a onesie with buttons down the front for hospital, I thought that would be ok? Thinking about it might be a bit fiddly but will be comfy!
I am just voicing my thoughts - cookies and pretty bras for your beautiful boobies if you got to the end

Re: Pre op consultation
I assume he doesn't do evening appts? Maybe at another location? Otherwise just say hosp appt and you don't need to give a reason. Can you have your pre op 7-10 days before instead?
I would trust his judgement BUT that's assuming he knows what you what. Take some photos of what's too big/small/fake/natural to your pre op so he has a really clear understanding of wishes. My surgeon took my photos into theatre with him!
It's soooo hard....I remember feeling exactly the same as you pre op about the size!

Re: Pre op consultation
She only offered me two dates for my pre op with my surgeon, one which I couldn't get the time off for and the second which I have managed to. He seems limited to Wednesday afternoons. I don't think he could do another location as the company I'm using is very small, the downside of not using a big clinic :(
Yeah deffo, he showed me some before and after photos of similar breasts to mine from his portfolio - that was useful but seems like a long time ago now. I want to look natural but not average, I want an impressive bust!

Re: Pre op consultation
Might be worth checking, my surgeon works at spire and Nuffield hospitals and I've had my post op appts at different ones to where I had my op as it was more convenient for me. Maybe if he was a web page it might say what hospitals he works from?
I had 330cc which was the biggest realistic size he recommended as I have a narrow breast width. They definitely look natural, but I would say very average in comparisons to my frame (I'm a 10/12)....wouldn't describe them as impressive! They are exactly what I wanted, but I wonder if you should see what you surgeon thinks of bigger options!

Re: Pre op consultation
Yours are the sort of look id like to achieve, I too am quite petite.
Thank you I hadn't thought of that he also works for spire.
When I say impressive I mean more than just your average size :)

Re: Pre op consultation
I would definately take some pics of the size/ look you are wanting , that way you will be sure your surgeon knows exactly what you want as it will be there in front of him to see, by just describing what you want you can't be certain he is picturing in his mind the same as you
There's a sticky just above here with before & after pictures you can print off.

Re: Pre op consultation
I was just going to say the above and also sometimes they will go with your instinct. I went for slightly bigger in the end then we had discussed and he said I was right, but any bigger would have not been good and he was right!
Match made in heaven, keep speaking to each other, we did! Pics would really help if you can't see each other.

Re: Pre op consultation
Why would you be lying about it being a hospital appointment? It is, and should be taken as seriously as any other malady. You don't have to say what it's for, that's no one's business but your own. Also, it's worth asking which nhs hospital he works in, see if he can fit your appointments in around that?
As for size, if you feel you'd be left short smaller, definitely discuss it, bit also bear in mind it could be the largest they can safely fit in. But definitely pictures and communication will get you your best result!

Re: Pre op consultation
I just feel guilt Charlii as though I'd be manipulating things to get the time off? I don't want to be seen to be doing that. Am worried that should I get found out I will look bad.
Thanks for you for your help girlies :)

I understand. I guess I take it for granted that my work is so flexible, but then it's easier to be when you're working globally. You need to do what's best for you, And what you're comfortable doing.

Re: Pre op consultation
Have you checked your work sickness policy? You may find cosmetic surgery is covered? I still wouldn't tell them, but just means you don't need to feel guilty.

Re: Pre op consultation
Unfortunately nothing is covered in my sickness policy... Not even sickness! I know of an employee who wasn't allowed time off for a nose job (medical reasons his airway had collapsed or something so this was not like a boob job) and he was told he'd have to use his holiday!
You wouldn't believe I work for a law firm I'm afraid :(

If he's a BAAPS surgeon if you look on the website > find a surgeon > click on location > click on your surgeons name. It will list all of their places of employment
Re: Pre op consultation
I know he works at spire and the nhs too, but how would i organise this through the company I'm using? I wonder if he'd be allowed to see me at a diff place?
My Mum said if I need to see him - I need to see him and sod work, haha, always makes you feel better when your mum tells you what to do in these situations lol!

Re: Pre op consultation
I would imagine at the mo you're making all your appts via his secretary, who may well be based at the spire hospital, but it's most likely she manages his diary for all locations. Give her a try! And mum's are always right!!!
