Re: What do I need?
Trying to remember when I started washing my own hair now! I was definitely washing it on my own by 3 weeks post op, I think I probably started doing it just after 2 weeks post op. Was being VERY careful though, and my lefty was a bit achey the first few times.
When my mum did mine it was tangle CITY, (and I got a 10 minute lecture each time on how much straighteners damage your hair, bless her!) so I feel your pain, unfortunately it's just something you have to live with. It's worth having not-perfect hair for a week or so rather than risk slowing down your healing or doing any damage.
The first couple of weeks after BA are incredibly unglamorous haha! Grotty hair, no baths, sexy sports bras and DVT stockings, but it's SO worth it afterwards

Re: What do I need?
Oh lady wipes were a godsend!!
I washed my own hair as soon as I was allowed to shower, so wk2, but it was tricky. The sooner you can stretch into it though, the better you'll feel (but don't push it, obvs!). I went for a trundle to the salon for a wash on day 3ish, but was up front with it, so they were careful with me, and hubs helped me back up.

Re: What do I need?
I am glad I am not the only one flapping here about what I need etc! I believe there is only a week between out BA dates, I thought I was preparing too early so im glad im not the only one :) Im not doing an overnight stay so cant comment on that, although I am going to be staying at my mums so will need an overnight bag I guess.
I am having a second consultation on 12th sept so will find out about what size sports bras to get because thats one of my biggest worries too, getting the wrong size!! I will definitely be investing in some front buttom pjs and I think Ill just be living in zip up hoodies for a while! x

Haha Sam, nope, don't worry have been flapping for a while :)
Nice to know someone is having theirs at a similar time too :)
I have emailed the lady who has been dealing with me today re bras and also flying? As I've a few days holiday to use before the end of the year and would like to get away with OH for a few days.

Re: What do I need?
I lived in shorts, macom and binder for about a week after mine. Clothes were faaarrrrrrrrr too much effort and were uncomfortable. Baring in mind tho i had my op during the heat wave x
