PURE POLYUETHANE IMPLANTS
HI THERE,
im due to have my BA on the 23.08.2014. I am going with spire, they use the "PURE" implants. Has anyone had any experience of them? Do they soften up like other implants? Looking forward to my BA, after a failed BA three years ago.

Re: PURE POLYUETHANE IMPLANTS
Hi I'm just bumping as I went to see mrs Kat who operates through spire and she suggested these. She said she's never known an anatomical one to rotate and the unfinished have suggests a lesser risk of cc. But I'd too be interested to know if anyone has had them!

Re: PURE POLYUETHANE IMPLANTS
Mine are! I have anatomical polyurethane coated implants.
I was told the polyurethane coating on the implants (which gives them the furry feeling) helps prevent both rotation and CC.
But the polyurethane coating is just that - a coating. The "filling" of the implant itself is just the same as a regular silicone cohesive gel implant, so softens the same way as any other silicone implant does.
Personally, at first my boobs were rock hard right after surgery. But as time passes, they soften to the touch. It was probably a good year before I could sleep on my stomach without feeling like my back was being arched into some kind of cobra-pose by my boobs! Now, I sleep on my stomach every night, and don't even think about it....

Re: PURE POLYUETHANE IMPLANTS
They're sometimes referred to a furry Brazilians on here so it might be worth searching for that term. The coating on them is meant to reduce rotation and Cc because of the texture, it adheres to the pocket more. As far as I know, they won't drop and fluff in the same way as a cui or allergen, but there will be some degree. They'll definitely soften up over time, but I believe they tend to be firmer than a 'regular' implant.

My husband asked about them at my consultation and my surgeon said that he doesn't use them very often but that they did have their place where somebody is prone to CC.
