Magic and guesswork! Your surgeon should be able to give you a rough idea of what size. A lot of girls prefer the Macom post op bra because of this, you only need your band size, then it accommodates up to a HH. I wish I'd got one earlier in my recovery.

Good thing to do pre op is make sure you're in the right band size, as most girls find they're not. Grab a tape measure and measure around where your band sits. Whatever that number is that's your size. Don't add 4/5" as per most of the bra measurements. This is an old method used for stores to be able to buy a smaller range of sizes. So for example I measure 31", so I wear a 32.

Has your surgeon confirmed high impact support post op? Because The Macom is high, full support. You can get them directly from the Macom website (you want the 1007 model) and putting 'mybreast' in the discount code might get you 15% off. Alternatively some girls sell theirs on here at a lower price, so its maybe worth looking at the 'grab a bargain' section.

But you need to confirm what sort of support you'll need after, theres no point going out and buying expensive sports bras if they want you free and loose post op!

I got a macom before I had surgery, because, as Charlii's said, you only have to know the band size for it. I bought a Triaction Extreme afterwards, once I was able to try a couple of sizes on, because I thought it'd be good to try a couple of different brands of bra. I have to say, the macoms are really good, and I've just ordered a second one. For me, the band on the triumph one makes the area round my incisions a bit sore, so the macom, which doesn't really have a band, works much better. Also, having a crop top style bra rather than separated cups works really well immediately post op for lots of girls, because your boobs can start out a funny shape and don't sit in cups particularly well! I had this problem and only now at 3 weeks post op are they starting to look vaguely normal in separate cup sports bras!

Like Charlii's said though, defs talk to your surgeon! Mine just said get a crop top and the nurses said get a sports bra, doesn't matter whether it's high impact or not. As long as it doesn't contradict your surgeon's advice, I'd prefer I high impact one though, I have a couple of medium impact ones and my boobs ache a LOT more after wearing those!

A shock absorber N102 I think, they are fab, I had an idea that I wanted to be a DD do got a 34 DD, tried rice in it etc, It is trial and error and lots of returning of bras LOL, in the end I was 32 E so not far off, I do wish I got measured properly PRE-op as I was never a 34 band!!!! xx
