Hi Jayne. Firstly - don't panic! Head over to the general BA section, theres a sticky about putting on weight post op. 2nd - you've got 900g of implant that you can take off that.

The GA will make you incredibly bloated. We call it the Buddha belly. It can take a couple of weeks to go down. Get your posture back as straight as you can, peppermint tea is meant to help, and if you're having troubles, some lactulose from the chemist will get things moving down there. Make sure you're eating healthy, lots of protein and veg for healing. And stay hydrated, especially in this heat. Its easy to think its water retention and skip that glass of water, but you need it for healing and to keep things right on the inside. Also, make sure you're taking some gentle exercise and not just sitting around all day. Keep moving, go for a 20min walk every day, and this will help get you back to that pre op weight.

Its not going to happen overnight, so please please make sure you adhere to your surgeons advice on exercise. Your health and healing comes first.

Please don't worry about your weight early post op. The mixture of ga and painkillers will make you bloated and retain water and make you constipated!

Concentrate on healing eating plenty of protein foods for repair and good carbs for energy.

Keep drinking lots of water to help flush things through.

In a good few weeks you can begin doing some gentle walking as excerise and you will notice your body start returning to normal x

My brother works in anesthesiology and he says is perfectly normal, apparently they use saline too, and makes u retain water. X

This happened to me, it took about three weeks to go down! Dont skip any meals or "diet", nutrition is optimum to healing. congrads on your new additions x
